We went to the service in our village church this morning, don't often go there as there aren't many services. Church needs repairs. There are so many beautiful churches in Norfolk. I wonder what will become of them all.

It's a nice day and I'm going outside to do some gardening, better late than never.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Good evening all. I have had an enjoyable day today. Took the opportunity to get Lily's TV on. All done and dusted. I then set about building my set of drawers for all my crafting stuff. I kept dropping the allen key which was more than annoying but I persevered and got the frame completed. By then my hands had seized up so I will finish off the drawers tomorrow.
It definitely was chilly today Hazel so I didn't do too much outside - apart from the wet cloth things. It started to look decidedly threatening early evening and I believe more of the wet stuff is forecast for tomorrow. Typical Bank Holiday weather methinks!

    Evening all,

Just had a quick bash at the dregs of hard to find/access properties on my poll card rounds. Some lovely farmhouses (no longer working farms) and not-so-lovely farmhouses (still working farms) and lots of long, uneven, narrow, steep lanes :o

I'll probably be handing the remaining 80 cards back - 58 for properties that haven't been fully built yet (on fenced-off building sites) and 22 that just aren't worth the effort of getting to/finding.

Earlier I sowed some sweet peas, potted on some chilli seedlings, planted some hellebores and potted on a cranberry plant. I've moved all the pots containing ill-looking plants into the same place round the side of the house. Anything that doesn't show willing in the next few weeks will be heading for the compost bin. No mercy in my ICU ;) Garden is looking a lot tidier but very bare in places.

  • Good morning all.  Another cool start.  Hazel well done for finishing your throw, lovely and warm.  I had an early night and slept through until two.  I’ve since had a lovely cuppa and a red berry cereal to start the day.  I hope you all slept.  Have a good day.  Lily hope your oh has rested and you too.

    Morning all (from the CA),

Looks pretty damp outside - forecast might be right for a change! Hoping for some dry spells so I can have a productive day outside.

Good morning Rosie and all to follow.

Rosie, red berry cereal and cup of tea are perfect for early breakfast. I'm glad that you slept well, although it was till 2am. 😊 We also have unusually cold morning.

SGL, hope your OH is better today, and that you two had a restful night.

As I mentioned, it's very cold morning for April. It's grey and windy, and I can see white stuff on hills top. I think that this year growing veggies outside will significantly late. Pets and birds are fed, so it' time for hot cup of tea.

Wish you all nice day, and hope at least some of you will be able to do something in the garden.
