Good morning all. Grey and still here but hoping for a sunny day in the garden. Went to a party yesterday very pleasant lots of Prosecco was drunk. Feel fine this morning though and ready to get outside.
Sorry to hear people not feeling 100% hoping the warmer weather and beauty of spring is restorative to you all .
Morning all. A very early start for us as OH has gone flying with some friends. They are flying from Shipdham in Norfolk to mid Denmark via the Nederlands and then back via Germany. A total of nearly 8 hrs airtime plus time on the ground. He was picked up at 4.30 this morning for a sunrise departure and should be home by 7pm. He is going along as the 'professional' advisor. Sounds like a very expensive little jolly - glad we're not paying for it!
We had a nice few days in Scotland and came back last weekend. Since then we have had a lot to arrange with hospital appts, vehicle 'stuff' and getting ready for the start of the new tax year. Trying to do bits of gardening between showers and I also seem to have a bit of a spring cleaning / sort-out urge. Best not to ignore it - doesn't often happen...
LB - I was sorry to hear of your car accident. I don't trust car indicators any more after a couple of similar near-misses. Hope it gets resolved without too much more hassle. Don't blame you for trying to get a new phone deal - ours has gone up by nearly 14% from this month. But the fact we get (as good as) unlimited roaming and data in Europe still makes it the best deal for us - we spend quite a lot of time there and both use the internet a lot while we're away.
SGL - thoughts are with you and your OH - difficult times for you.
Hazel - sorry to hear your mum is becoming increasingly frail but she sounds as though she is doing remarkably well at such a grand age.🙂
Looks like it's going to be a sunny (if chilly) day. Think I'll have a couple of hours outside later on.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good morning all. LB hope the headaches subside soon and you’re feeling back to normal. Hope all those not feeling too well soon resume sleeping. A cool day today there may be a sm shop ahead to stock up on essentials. Topbird hope they have a good flight today and enjoy their visit. It’s a day to wrap up warm.
Morning all. Slept in today so must get going. I read with interest an article in the News about how the humble paper shopping list is making a comeback to help folks budget their finances etc. Had to laugh, I've been using a shopping list for yonks and still do. Funny how things go round and come round. Also, know how you wait ages for a bus and then two come along? I had received an appointment for the referral to see a Rheumatologist next week, but the other day I had a phone call ( from a different hospital) with a cancellation date ( for the day after the first appointment) for a referral for a Bone Density Scan!( had forgotten about that though😬). So, next week will be interesting. The sun appears to be put so we are popping to a garden centre as OH is after a Stipa Gigantea grass. Hope everyone has a good day. I sill catch up reading later.
Didn't get back out last night but it looks like it is brightening up today.
Getting rid of a chunk of these is today's mission. If I've planned my route properly and got them all in the right order, a 4hr trudge should be enough to get through most of them.
@biglad Hope you manage to get most of it done today.
@songbird-2 I didn't realise the shopping list wasn't around anymore, to make a comeback 🤔 I've never stopped making lists either. I make alsorts of lists😂😂
Glad you've heard about appointments, hope all goes well.
Good afternoon everyone. I'm indoor gardening today as its a bit too chilly outside. I got some Gardeners Delight tomato seeds yesterday so after I've watered the other half of my cacti collection I will be sowing them - I'm growing them for Jack as well.
Debs, what a party girl you are! Prosecco in the garden sounds delightful.
Good to see you back T'Bird. Hope that your OH enjoys the joy ride!
Hello Rosie, I heard that there could be a frosty night tonight so keep warm when you go out shopping - its not warm out.
Hazel, I'm shocked to think that people DON'T make shopping lists. I ALWAYS do. Now whether I always stick to what's on my list is another story but we won't go into that! 🤭 You have got a mad busy week next week - and all to be squeezed in before Good Friday!
@rowlandscastle444, thank you for the good wishes re the car crash and I can tell your family are very discerning - such good taste! Watch this space as there will be more!
@Biglad I bet those leaflets weigh a ton! It makes sense to deliver them in batches.
SGL, hopefully the Insurance will cover the bills. I rang on Friday to see where they are up to but basically the car is still being assessed. I just have to wait until they call me.
