Beautiful roses everyone . I've been waiting for ages ( all covered in buds , many showing colour but resolutely refusing to open). I know I was late pruning / feeding and perhaps I need to up the watering. I do seem to have some kind of leaf spot already , but so far resisting anything other than just picking off the worst leaves.
Not fully open , but I've lost patience with waiting ...
My beautiful peace rose seems to be dead!! Some green when I've scratched the bark but absolutely no life on the stems. Should I cut it back and hope for the best?
@redseatartandI3DLCeV It looks as good as dead to me, I see little point in keeping that and hoping for the best. I would dig it out and plant something you like..
Clematis The President - lovely big bright purple. It gets afternoon sun and the colour didn't fade at all.
Taken last Thursday: The same blooms today Clematis Asao: Got the inspiration after looking at @Marlorena garden and thanks a lot for introducing these beautiful blooms.
Without knowing we have cut it down completely and removed stumps as well in 2018 and had few flowers last year. I have pruned it for the first time during last winter/spring and I couldn't stop admiring these scented beauties!
Your GR looks fine to me, it isn't the fullest of shrub roses and its growth can be a little "twiggy" at times. The fragrance and quality of blooms more than make up for the overall shrub
Finished potting 6 of my new roses and putting the other 2 in the ground. Had to go to GC while potting because I ran out of earth. Really proud of me to only bring back what I wanted. But had a look at the electronics store on my way, because there is a new mobile phone out that really takes better pics of my plants. Very, very expensive though.
@Nollie, yes, I do have Vichy. And you don't. At least it is not the rose you have shown. I order a lot from TCL, never had a mix up. They do have a lot lovely roses. So whatever you got, hopefully you like it.
@WAMS Synactif is another example of a really bad name change. Especially, when the original is lovely as the Petit Prince. Mine refuses to grow, très petit after 3 years. And only 2-3 blooms. Ordered another one and potted it. Will put them together in the ground eventually, I think.
I think I've finally got the first bud on the Golden 50th Wedding Anniversary Rose. It's at the top on the left side. Small but perfectly formed. Rose still on the small side but seems in good condition.
