    @WAMS I planted Bathsheba last spring. It's now about 1m high and wide. I grow it in zigzag up an arch. Well, only zig so far  ;)

    Question to growers of Mill on the floss: what is a good way to train it? Reading last summer's thread I learned that untrained it will be a mess with sparse blooms at the end of tall canes. Not very attractive. Mine is only 30cm and one legged so far but good to have an idea.

    ..fan trained against a wall as a short climber is the best I've seen... in the open ground I found it irritating and I really didn't know what to do with it..

    @LateralBreaks Thanks for the confirming that the moss roses do become thorny at the base, but that they can be avoided and the example too

    @Marlorena thanks for the other suggestions too

    Deciding on which roses to try isn’t easy.
