'Bathsheba' can be grown on anything really, I've had it on obelisks and against a shed.. it's amenable to training and manipulation.. well, not twirling, I didn't try that, bit stiff..
I note your MH flowering quite early @Mr. Vine Eye I remember it tended to start around June 1st here..
Here are some glam shots as I'm tired of waiting for certain roses to bloom..
'Marie Nabonnand'.. in full flush... I'm contacting Trevor White about this rose hoping they might want to propagate it, as I'm trying to get it back into commerce in UK.. it grows so well grafted..
Some photos of 'Bathsheba'.. I've had it all over the place as it's something of a chameleon. I first tried it on my shed, but didn't like it there.. ..so moved it to an obelisk..
I now have it on a different obelisk elsewhere in the garden..
Yellow, white, pink/apricot.. orange - you'll get the lot..
Question to growers of Mill on the floss: what is a good way to train it? Reading last summer's thread I learned that untrained it will be a mess with sparse blooms at the end of tall canes. Not very attractive. Mine is only 30cm and one legged so far but good to have an idea.
..fan trained against a wall as a short climber is the best I've seen... in the open ground I found it irritating and I really didn't know what to do with it..
I sent photos of the not Darcey Bussell to Promesse des Fleurs and they agreed it isn't and have refunded me They also refunded me for 3 pink Amica roses that died which I bought in 2021. I heard that they don't respond but they do, after 2 days, impressed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
