@Pete.8 Oh ok.. well they look lovely as does your fabulous 'Moonlight'.. a rose I never fell in love with unfortunately.. I too enjoy the sweet foliage on eglanteria, as I still call it.. or rubiginosa.. the best garden variety for this scent is found on 'Lady Penzance'.. a rose I used to grow for that purpose..
I think you also have 'Seagull' ? we should love to see them, I'm sure..
Thanks for that tip @Marlorena I'll try and find somewhere for Lady of Penzance. The other rose is The Garland - it is a mass of buds and photos will follow when they come out.

@newbie77, I know what you mean. If all goes to plan though, it will be a few years before I need worry over that. Then I can imagine it being a mammoth undertaking. A few bloom shots this morning. Cloudy morning up here for a change (at least for this summer so far), but it's good for photography. Desdemona A recovering Graham Thomas Boscobel
@Marlorena just spoke to 16 Eichen. They went out of business during Covid. Plus Petra, the owner, is currently hospitalised. Let's check a year from now. Once a rose lover, always a rose lover...
@ElbFee ..thanks for taking the trouble... I'm sorry about Petra, I remember it was her who sent me the rose.. ..the only photo I have of it.. flowering about 6 weeks sooner than is usual for R. moschata..
@ciaranmcgrenera With that mix of colours, I think a rose like 'Boscobel', in a group of 3 would go well, because it has an unusual mix of salmon to pink, and I just think it needs that kind of arrangement close by, and types of plants you have, to do it justice.
I used to have a group of 3 'Boscobels'.. I had to downsize, that's the only reason I don't have them now..
There are lots of others suitable of course.. this is only a suggestion..
@WAMS I used to have 'Bordure Camaieu'. The range of colours in Beales' photos is realistic. A nice rose but small. I think they have more than one in that main photo. Best used in groups or as the name suggests, as a border row/low hedge. Or front of the border position.
Thank you, @edhelka. It is certainly tempting to get another.
Blue for You is smelling strongly of licorice today! (Alnwick Rose behind). Forever Royal Galway Bay Gertrude Jekyll and white salvia just appearing out the front John Paul II has reached the fluffy dessert stage and has a much pleasanter fragrance than it did yesterday.
