Just home to a very wet garden and will catch up with it tomorrow.
Just to say @Marlorena Roses Loubert list ‘Secret Garden Musk Rambler’ but no image or description, so if that is the same and whether they are still budding it, no idea..
All their roses are sold bare root and grafted on laxa. I believe they do send to UK and postage is reasonable, I definitely read that somewhere, but don’t think it’s possible to do a trial basket to confirm until orders open in Autumn
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Nollie ..thank you so much, I had no idea they sold it.. I went through their catalogue before Christmas and did not notice it then.. I received 3 roses from them in January, so yes it's correct they are willing to ship, but what a pity I didn't notice it.. oh well, I'll have another look in autumn.. I would be confident it's the same variety..
Jois de vivre just starting. And lots more to come.....😃
Climber, Indigoletta flowering away
My mystery white shrub that I got many moons ago
And finally Climber Clarence house(below)
Roses are addictive and I need to add more to my garden😃. I am trying to find 'Black Baccara' but it's seems out of stock everywhere so I may need to wait for that one.
I tried taking cuttings last year to see if I could and I I have had some success. My jois de vivre is doing well
And 2 from my mystery shrub These 2 are also doing well but when I took the cuttings i didn't think they would work so wasn't really thinking ahead. These 2 cuttings were quite thin/spindley to start so now cannot support the growth above. I have had to trim a bit off them already. I think I will try and leave them be as much as possible this year then cut them right back to soil level and hope they sprout thicker shoots from below the soil next year. Does this sound right?
@Alfie_ I remember you were desperate for a Munstead Wood.... well there is one on ebay at the moment from a seller with good reviews. Please don't lose your head but on the other hand, it's an amazing rose. Currently at £25. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385666279971
@Emptyheadtime They look like 'Iceberg'.. if you pinch out any buds that develop, it will cause the rose to bush out more and grow larger. I wouldn't personally cut back to ground level in winter, I'd just plant them out as they are.. up to you..
@newbie77 I've no idea about the best mulch, any compost mulch will do the job.. I would use the cheapest for this purpose..
I'm hoping this cold spell is coming to an end for us in eastern areas... one thing about it, blooms are lasting ages on the bushes, and I've rarely needed to deadhead so far..
'Cornelia' still looking nice.. 'Desdemona'.. Geranium 'Eureka'.. Agastache 'Morello'.. 'Frilly Cuff' rose soon be flowering..
Ah, that’s how I heard Loubert were still shipping to the UK, from you Marlorena! Makes sense, found your post about it, €20 postage is very reasonable given the additional costs to them.
There are a few idiosyncrasies in their search engine. If I type in Marie Nabonnand nothing comes up, but Marie Nab [pause] brings it up in a drop-down menu.

(Seems expensive for what it is, though.)
