Agnasia you could always start Evelyn in your pot and if it eventually grows too big move it to the ground. See if anything else grabs you first on your visit then decide!
I’m really not bothered about a new DA or what they call it. I reckon Ross is on commission! 😉
Well I’m just back from the local GC, no joy getting a solanum but they did seem to be branching out a bit from the tired old unnamed HTs. There were some Tantau roses, a Parade and.. a Chandos Beauty! To all fans of Chandos, there were two blooms half open and the fragrance was indeed deliciously intoxicating. I didn’t buy it as it was a miserable black-spotted specimen (they all looked a bit ‘remainder’) but it’s definitely on my list now.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
'Morletti' has a lot going for it.. perhaps more for the collector these days?.. like so many are unfortunately.. 'Bridge of Sighs' looking better every day..
'Othello'.. another deliciously scented bloom, and no proliferation.. 'Mutabilis'.. ..luscious 'Marie Nabonnand'.. quite large blooms.. 'Desdemona'.. ..around this rose I have Verbascum phoenicum 'Violetta'.. ..however, some have turned out to be 'Rosetta'..
@Nollie I really like how you have supported GdeF Standard, I might well copy you, thank you. I have a yellow verbascum that seeds around and if it lands in a fertile spot gets huge, you can see one back left here next to a surprisingly large (5ft) Hesperis matronalis, both benefiting from the feed of the rose they are swamping. I must thank @Omori for her recommendation of Olivia RA, the blooms are huge but even in the wind the canes can cope.
Bridge of Sighs looks so beautifully arched there @agnasia, shows how important getting to grips with climber training is to get great results. I fear I have let Strawberry Hill get away from me a bit because I didn't think it grew as tall as it has this year. It is an easy one to train sideways but I have it on a narrow trellis.
@Punkdoc I have England's Rose. It is an excellent doer, healthy, glaucous foliage and with a compact habit. The blooms are small and shatter quickly but they just keep coming. It was in a pot till this Spring now equally happy in the ground, centre of photo under an ElaeagnusFirst blooms are appearing daily but here is Odyssey in full show mode, the scent as you walk past is stronger than I remember.
Thanks @Tack for the mention, life has been all over the place and I haven’t had time to work on the garden so it’s a mess. I’m amazed at these roses I’m seeing from everyone, mine are a long way off! 😱
I must check in here more often, can’t be missing everyone’s lovely gardens blooming like this.
I’ll be visiting Yokohama English Garden in Japan in a couple of weeks, hopefully everything will still be in full bloom and I’ll share pics here.

Lucky you @Omori! Please share a few photos with us.
Found some more roses when I went to cut yesterday afternoon. Feels so cruel to cut "the only" roses from garden but this way I can have these close to me all day
