@Newbie_greenie One of my climbing roses meets all 4 of your requirements, Strawberry Hill The Generous Gardener below I love but find blooming down below is sparse, possibly my fault but training the stiff canes is difficult, they snap without warning.
Claire Austin took 3 years to get going but may also be worth consideringI started getting into roses 4 years ago only really looking at David Austin's so those are my mature ones, I would probably look further afield now and others on this forum will have other recommendations. DAs seem to cope well with a bit of shade ime and these 3 stay healthy even without spraying, particularly SH and CA. TGG blooms in flushes so is not continuously flowering like the other 2.
Hello everyone! Lot of time passed since I last wrote a post here, unfortunately we had some health issue and also lost one of our dear Devon cats.
I have not had the time to read all this thread and look at all you photos, unfortunately, but it’s a pleasure to see you are all still here ad things seems to go well.
My garden is a disaster at the moment, we had some beautiful blooms on our roses (Phyllis Bide was covered with flowers), then came a strong hailstorm (our attic floor even got flooded) and now they are all almost without leaves 😥
But today… today I found this wonderful bloom on my Blue for You, bought form TLC and planted last November bareroot, and now I am almost happy 😍
Hi @Nollie, @Marlorena This is my 'Buff Beauty' at the moment. It's growing well, it's even got a few buds on. It's now in the sunniest, warmest part of my garden so I'll see how it fares, too early yet to see if it throws up those super long canes again. If all goes to plan, I'll take it out of the pot and plant it against the wall you can see for next year.
Quick question for all you rose expets on here. My Vanessa Bell has lots of new foliage and seems healthy but leaves are a very pale green. She is growing in a large pot and is overdue for her annual horse manure mulch but I wondered about sequestered iron? I have it for my rhododendrons but didn’t know if it would be beneficial for a rose. Can anyone help?
I was going to say the same as Newbie. Vanessa Bell does have light green leaves, especially if compared directly with other darker leaves roses, so could just be that.
@peteS I wish I could remember who, when and where (not a regular poster) posted photos of his mature BB grown as a climber, it was either on this thread a year or two ago or maybe on Marlorena’s ‘Notes’ on her rose garden. It was spectacular at any rate and might’ve helped you decide whether to train against your wall or not. We can both see how it goes this summer anyhow and compare notes.
@dabolem welcome back, but sorry to hear about your health, house and rose nightmares. Hope things are improving for you. Lovely bloom to start the rose recovery. I also have a new Blue for You which won’t be far behind yours and also got Darlow’s Enigma, amongst others.
Nothing much new to post yet, but Munstead Wood and The Prince blooms have opened:

That is an incredible bloom.

I reckon you've sold quite a few 'Prince's', with your photos of that clearly stunning rose..
