@lacartridgesAZyIGss Heya.. the Phlox with Absolutely Fabulous is 'Purple Flame'.. this may be the photo you've seen?..
I did used to have 'Raven' Penstemon too, but I grow other types now.. so you may have seen 'Raven' in earlier photos of mine.. I also had a very similar one called 'Plum Jerkum', I couldn't really tell the difference..
I still have 'Westminster Bell', which is one I always grow here..
@Herbloom 'Scented Garden' is one of my best roses, easy going and carefree.. always in bloom..
Most of the roses are resting only some has started the second flush. lots of new growth though.
Benjamin Britten: William Morris: Augusta Luise Reine de violettes Dark Desire: Didn't like the hard prune.. I think it has invested lots of energy in the growth than flowers so far. Lots of buds hoping to see good flush.
Mill on the floss:
Janet: Olivia Austin:
Wedgewood: The Alnwick Castle: Fair Bianca: This rose died completely, removed all stems and there was no trace to see this rose was once there! My little daughter was pouring water with the hope to bring it alive and she is very happy with the end result!
Today was cut the grass and weed kill the paths day! But still had time whilst doing that and giving Agatha a swimming lesson to take a few pictures for today.
Firstly This Bearded Iris has got a talking to - it's August for heaven's sake!
The Lark Ascending starting into its second flush - a joy to behold. Looking forward to seeing this next year when it's bigger.
Now, if you remember a while back I had a real poorly Madam Alfred Carriere, which got dug up and put into a pot and transferred to Intensive Care behind the greenhouse. Happy to say she has responded to treatment and is now not considered critical - she is even showing some buds. The unknown dogwood in the background is anyone's guess.
The vigour of Dorothy Perkins amazes me. In February she was a mere stump. Now well over 4 meters wide, though I have been training her and tying her in. Purity Cosmos in front just to fill the border gap for this year.
Noticed that my second Goujard is making a sterling effort to resurrect its self. This Autumn I think it can go back into the main border with its chum.
Finally our other unknown Yellow is sure settling back into a wiggle! Another 30 year old that was moved in February out of the overhang of a shrub and now taking full advantage. Just wish I knew what it was.
Golden Beauty putting on a show Peace in the pot after some tlc Double delight in the front garden, doing really well in its second year. Ingrid Bergman.
Looks like lots of roses having another flush. I'm really appreciating the pictures while laid low with my first bout of Covid. Did manage some balcony pictures so I can join in
Hello! I've recently received my new Strawberry Hill from David Austin and noticed all three canes have these deep scars on them. Is this anything to worry about?
I thought it could be because of fluctuations of hot and cold weather and irregular watering but I don't really know. Does anyone else? Will it affect the health of the rose? Some of mine have stems like that too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The aerial view is even more impressive @Tack get well soon..
@salo.daria I don't think that is going to be an issue.. lot my roses have those and even the ones which were burrowed by the saw fly have healed well.. Just enjoy your new rose.. Strawberry hill would be quite vigorous and will send many shoots soon.. worst case scenario, DA would give you a replacement if it fails within 5 years..
