    @Marlorena, thank you so much for sharing what you grow in your 'shady' area. Very interesting point on not growing HT's there. I will do some research on what you have suggested. :)

    I sigh wishfully where I see all your lovely tulips, the species ones do ok but the showy ones struggle.

    @cooldoc you are so right. I should leave the area around the rose foot bare. Somehow nature doesn't like bare soil. Something always selfseeds. The roses don't seem to mind though. And it creates lovely combinations with cornflowers, poppies etc. gently leaning on rose flowers. Plus, I get to squeeze in much more plants.

    Yes, Louis has a lot of China blood. The late frost killed it.
