@Marlorena Yes, SdSA has got a lovely scent. Last year I went to Mottisfont and smelt every single rose I could get to. I liked SdSA’s fragrance the most. So I’ve ordered it as soon as I got home. I also really like its large delicate flowers. I feel like photos often don’t do this rose justice.
Interesting pictures, @Eustace. I also love those blue Tibetan poppies but failed when I tried to grow them.
That's a gorgeous rose, @dabolem. Hope you are doing OK.
This one has a lovely scent, @cooldoc- Sarah / Jardins de Bagatelle. Large HT flower. It is the one my un-planty husband pointed out tonight.
Your Twilight Zone rose is goals!
I am completely charmed by the Albrighton Rambler.
New Rhododendron Polarnacht which has exceeded all my expectations and is much darker / more violet-hued in real life. I will probably kill it in my efforts to get it to bloom this well again next year!
Thanks @Elbfee, @zugenie and @Tack. There is no "orange orange blue and white" rose, but there IS a rose that takes its name from one of Luton's favourite tunes, thanks to the Eric Morecambe connection -"Bring Me Sunshine." Hmm... how is this rose looking so far for those who got it last year?
Mostly pictures of HT roses. I think they are much more susceptible to blackspot, even more than floribunda roses. Masquerade Friesia Marie Curie Weg der Sinne Papa Meilland Blue Moon, a truly large flower. Twice in a Blue Moon is even bigger. Annapurna has a weak neck. Ulmer Munster Unlabelled HTs

And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
It looks lovely @WAMS looked into it.. a Meiland product.. will see how it does for you..
@ElbFee I remember you mentioning that Louis XIV is fragrant.. morning sniff absolutely zero fragrance.. wondering if TW messed it up with something similar.. again 1st blooms in a small plant.. will give it sometime..
Just back from an early bank holiday Monday trip to a couple of garden centres. Resisted all temptation to buy plants I don't have space for.
The vast majority of the roses at the garden centres were well behind all the wonderful examples everybody has been posting. Is this something they are doing deliberately, or are we looking after ours better?
Here's my best ones from today, all with a good scent.
Yolande d'Aragon: A full bodied Old Rose scent with what I think is a slight citrus hint.
Wollerton Old Hall: Lovely myrrh scent, one of my few David Austins.
A White Shade Of Pale: Tea fragrance with a bit of fruit. My partner reckons it has a peachy tone to its scent, but the perfume from roses is a very subjective matter.
Don't grow up - grow sideways.
Gardening in the West Midlands on a mix of neutral loamy sand & Victorian building rubble.
I'm impressed by how far ahead most of your roses are. I live in the south of England but only my odorata is in full flush, with Gertrude Jekyl just starting to open.
Rosa cristata is the most impressive in bud. It is once flowering, but because of the moss has a long season anyway.
@WAMS the replacement BMS that I got this year is doing so much better than the first attempt!! No buds yet but lots of healthy growth, and the younger leaves are orange-y and so far are staying that colour for a fair while, which I’m really enjoying. Will try and remember to take a pic later on for you!
I put up the third wire and tied in some of the stems on COY, I’ve also tied the 3 new shoots into the existing stems to train them up to the wires! So far this rose is remarkably healthy, hopefully I don’t jinx it!!
a before and after:
Lots more blooms coming on VdB
I appear to have captured the worlds biggest aphid there 🤣
is this blackspot on VdB? It’s different to how the blackspot is looking on the other roses so I wasn’t sure
Boule de Neige is one of the best bareroots I’ve ever had, already 80cms tall!
This thread is such a joyous riot of colour at the moment, everyone has such lovely roses, the list keeps growing!!
Desdemona has stolen my heart from the gorgeous photos you’ve all been sharing, is it peachy at all or a creamy white?
Am finding this thread really inspirational and uplifting, absolutely beautiful flowers and pics... think my two faves on my wish list are Astonomia and Wild Rover, although goodness knows where I'd put them!
Most of mine are still very much in bud, just coming into flower, but here we go...
Pink perpetué
Gertrude Jekyll
St Swithun
Tranquility
Dedemona (I would say more creamy than peachy, @zugenie )
@zugenie Desdemona is creamy white, no peachy tones in those flowers - more of a hint of baby pink when in the bud stage.
Munstead Wood flowers are huge this year, in its 3rd season here, in spite of the mildew. Almost the same size as Golden Celebration. Hope it is not doing this as a swansong. The best performing DAs are all here:

..apart from your lovely huge roses, your lawn is immaculate.. I always notice a good lawn..
.. a great variety of roses today, especially Crested Moss and Yolande d'Aragon ..
@zugenie
Yes various fungal diseases common to roses, not only black spot.. I would just pick those off..
I find 'Desdemona' essentially a white rose with sometimes a peachy centre..
.. a couple of blooms from ''Surpassing Beauty''.. my most sumptuous rose and one to walk around the garden with...
