@WAMS, In 2021 autumn I planted some Fosteriana tulips in garden. Those are supposed to be perennial. Those are getting buds now. Will see if flowers this year are as good or not.
Nollie, if I want something moving I just do it. It doesn't stop me wincing at the new roots I'm damaging but nothing seems to sulk for long. I'm madly moving things around still, that new border is not just for new plants and I'm not waiting.
I succumbed to more roses for a really giant pot, for the first time ever I have bought more than 1 of the same type. With the discount for 3, plus Peter Beales's 50% off, it was an irresistible bargain, got Frilly Cuff.
Chaenomeles has been flowering like this for weeks, it must have liked last year's conditions. I didn't plant those daffs, that Japanese Quince has been there for 40 years and is far too thorny to get under.
That's a very vibrant pic @Tack. I fear my old Chaenomeles has died on me at last. It was inherited and in a very odd position of having had an extension to the garage built around it so almost entirely surrounded by concrete. Couldn't get near enough to ever water or feed it, I'm surprised it lasted this long.
I loved the colour though at an early time of year, the same as yours.
When I saw 'Frilly Cuff' on a bench of potted roses at Peter Beales, I had to take one home with me.. ideal for a group of 3 I think.. what a sight that will be Tack..
It was of course your lovely specimen that prompted me Marlorena, and your comments on HMF that I found this morning. I am very encouraged you think it will work as a trio. Thank you
I also move roses as and when I feel like it... I've even moved one in full bloom, not that I'd recommend it.. Needs must.. they soon recover if their immediate needs are dealt with.. firm replanting, flooding out daily for a week or so..
I’ll tackle it over the weekend @Tack, has to be done. I do try and move roses when dormant or just in early growth, more than anything because they’re easier to handle when bare of foliage. Sometimes time and top growth runs ahead of you though.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Talking of foliage, I love admiring at it at this time of year, when it’s so fresh and blackspot free. The bright green is lovely, but I find myself drawn more to the red and bronzy tones..

Lovely and sunny, although a tad windy! I fed and mulched everything in front of the shed and north facing fence plus Lady of the Lake and along the brick wall with the espalier Apple. So that’s almost half the garden. Hoped to do the pots at the front and Lady of the Lake too but baby isn’t having the nice long naps he used to at the moment.
I popped to Lidl and bought a Warszawska Nike clematis as well.

Quick lunchtime dive outside and it's the first bud of the year for me... on Amazing Day. 🥳
