Oh the joys of getting old - looking forward to being able to sleep on one's side!

I remember when staying at my in-laws when we first got married that my ma-in-law was impressed with the ease with which I could put on my socks and shoes whilst standing up.  These days I am determined to still do that, but I have to take a run up to it and much heavy breathing is required.

It's my birthday today.  Not doing anything special but will go for a b'day lunch with the family after Clay Club on Sunday.  Youngest g'daughter will not be with us though - she's off skiing in Italy with the school.

    Thank you Hosta!

Edited to add - my age is either the first two letters in the posts number - or the 2nd two!

Morning all, Happy Birthday @didyw. These days I find it much easier to put my feet up on a step to put my socks on!

A very stormy night here but I slept through most of it, thank goodness. OH was away overnight and got back mid-morning after a horrible journey down the M4 in torrential rain. Because of the spray, traffic was only doing 55mph so a slow journey.
I braved the heavy rain to walk to the paper shop, chemist and bakery. Treated us to Hot cross buns and batons for lunch. My son is expected to arrive this afternoon for  more belated 50th celebrations with his old mates up here so he is also going to have an awful journey across country.

No gardening today unfortunately. What a nuisance @Allotment Boy to waste a dry afternoon, I bet you were furious.

@chicky, I think OH still has that book tucked away somewhere, the play sounds interesting.

@tui34, I know what you mean about Fridays. Even though we're been retired for ages, it still seems more joyful than the other days  (though not specially today because of all the rain!).

Our lane this morning was like a babbling brook punkdoc, much more rain and it's likely to turn into a torrent because all the rain on the surrounding hills funnel down through the valley.

    Happy Birthday @didyw 💐

Forecast looks abysmal for tomorrow so I’m plotting a PJ day.

    Have a lovely weekend all.

Happy Birthday @didyw - oops just noticed the time, hope you enjoyed your day (yesterday). Well it seems that we have said goodbye to March - it came in like a lion and seems to be going out like one too. The weather here has been awful, rivers of water rushing across our fields not just down our roads.
Welcome to April folks, lets hope for some warmth and sunshine.
