Good morning everyone, looks like lots of you are preoccupied with other things this morning, either that or the clock change has disrupted everyone. We managed a bit of time in the garden yesterday, not much chance today as it's wet and windy out there. It must be spring because the new Magnolia the council planted in the verge outside is in flower. Its a small white flowered one very pretty. Have a good day all.
Afternoon all, Had a therapeutic trip to the local tip today. Got rid of lots of rubbish from down the cellar. There is so much junk down there so I'm planning to get rid of it a bit at a time. Was hoping for a nice day today but it was very cold this morning and it's put me off gardening. I haven't sowed a single seed yet, very unusual for me. Had a visit from an ex next door neighbour who is going to have a look at a problem with the guttering on the front of the house. He's taken Hubby off for a drink at the pub which he will enjoy as he doesn't get out much these days.
We escaped the predicted frost - hooray 😃. I have magnolias in bloom and it would have been curtains for the flowers. Today’s meant to be nice, so will get out there and do some more weeding and cutting back - over half way through now.
Went for lunch with my Dad yesterday, who is on very good form at the moment. Nice meal which kept me full all day.
Then Chicklet popped in for the evening - she is moving this weekend to a flat in London. She is sharing with 3 friends from Uni. 2 of her friends found somewhere they liked and so they put in an offer and were accepted. And in one of life’s weird and wonderful twists it turns out that it is EXACTLY THE SAME FLAT that I shared with Chicklet’s godmother in 1986-1988. How weird is that 😂😂😂. It even still has the same landlord.
That is an amazing coincidence @chicky! And if it is the same landlord you had, you will feel reassured that your chicklet has security with the flat.
Bit of a bitty day for me today - but the work I was going to do with our In Bloom group turns out not to be what I thought it was going to be and has, in fact, largely already been done by other volunteers so I am excusing myself from that, meaning I can get some of the other things done - including taking my car back to the garage as, despite their saying they could find nothing wrong with it, there most definitely is and I will insist they take it for a drive in stop-start traffic to see for themselves the problems I have getting it in 2nd after stopping and starting in 1st for a while (narrow roads, parked cars, school chuck-out time...)
Officially daylight saving!! Summer is just around the corner - well, sort of. We have to get through spring first. We have been buffeted by the most amazing winds. It was blowing a gale all night - the house sounded like a galleon rough seas. Creak, creak, creak in the roof trusses.
I feel for sorry for those poor people in the Mississippi. Apparently, there's more to come. What desolation!!
Swiss ball lesson this morning. I will do some more digging and weeding this afternoon. Just an hour, otherwise I am walking on all fours tomorrow.
@chicky What a coincidence!! Original power, original fixtures and fittings??! I like those therapeutic trips to the trip too. @Yviestevie especially cupboard clearance!!
No sign of the swallows yet although the weather is warming up.
Hello all … another busy morning but I feel so much better for the Respite Wonky provided. She is coming back tomorrow so I can have a good nights sleep before we go to the clinic on Wednesday.
He’s eaten a good breakfast, done some admin stuff together and he’s had phone calls with friends … now he’s having a doze.
Im trying to source a transit wheelchair to borrow for the clinic trip as the hospital says so many of theirs are ‘not returned’/stolen 😡 , however the local Red Cross say all the ones they have that are suitable for a 6ft 17 stone chap are already out on loan … they’re trying to retrieve one … But if we have to rely on finding one at the hospital then so be it.
We’ve come so far and beaten so many odds … we’ll manage somehow … 💪

Cool but sunny, I have been out doing some planting, need to make room in the g/h for the multitude of seedlings in the house. You will triumph, @Dovefromabove.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Good afternoon, same here cool but sunny. I have just retrieved OH from the Dentist, I dropped her off and went to sainsbugs while she was having major work in preparation for implants. She said it was no worse than extraction, but we'll see. She is dozing now, while the anaesthetic wears off a bit. I am off to make butternut squash soup now for her to have later, as she can't have anything that needs chewing for the rest of today.

overcast and cool here. 20 on the veranda and 18 inside. Autumn is beginning to itself felt. 🙄
