Oh wow, what great news @Dovefromabove: I am so happy for him. Nothing like momma's food to perk up a lad! You are going to be busy in the near future but at least there's less driving.
Thank you @Tui34. I am already thyroid-less. It is the lymphnodes misbehaving now according to the scan. Doctor couldn't feel anything by physical examination so I have to do a scintigraphy which I have done before, I know the drill. Going to visit friends in NI next Thursday so I will be in excellent company and won't think of it. Looking forward to a proper pint of Guinness. 😋
Weather is wet, wet, wet so no gardening unfortunately.
Always worrying @coccinella, but pleased that the doctors seem positive about the future. Enjoy Northern Ireland 🍀
So many Forkers with Croydon connections ….its a small world 🌎
Great news that son is home @Dovefromabove. A long road ahead but he is surrounded by lots of love. And I’m sure home cooking will suit him better than hospital fare.
Off to have a crown fitted this morning (tooth, not royalty 👸🏼).
But its the first day of spring (in my book) so its a day full of optimism for me. Think we might even have some brief sunny spells 😎
Morning all, that is good news indeed @Dovefromabove Rob will progress faster with you now. Cloudy and quite cold here today so not quite sure what I'm up to today, some daffodil dead heading maybe and sorting out the greenhouse ready for me and my neighbour's seeds and plants!
What wonderful news @Dovefromabove I'm sure he will feel a lot more comfortable and rested in your capable hands, there is nothing like familiar surroundings and home cooking to help recovery is there? But do look after yourself too, take some special 'you' time where you can.
@AllotmentBoy my parents and I lived in the first small holding on the right down the Vale, my parents-in-law lived on the left a third of the way down and when we got married OH and I purchased another holding two doors down from the in-laws - useful for dropping in for cuppa's, meals and baby sitting!! I do remember Jack and Len type small holdings down the far end of the Vale but rarely went down that far unless I was riding my horse. Where did Len go when the whole lot went for building in late '67 early '68? Parents all moved down near East Grinstead and OH and I purchased our first farm in the Heathfield/Hailsham/Battle (Sussex) triangle. My apologies to those of you living elsewhere in the country but it is rather exciting to discover that some of us 'unknown friends' on here actually have connections in the past.
That is good news @Dovefromabove, but don't tire yourself out. At least you won't have the journey and it should be more relaxing for you all in your own home.
I only know Croydon because the train went through it went I went home to my parents in Surrey on days off from nursing school in London. I know the Sussex area that @AnnaB mentioned because my parents lived in Battle after my father retired.
I had a day of rest yesterday. The ironing is mounting up, especially with NDN's to add to it, so that is what I'll do today.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hooray!! @Dovefromabove Home is where the heart is!! ....and the best place to convalesce. Have you given Rob a bell!! (just pulling your leg!)
I too know Croydon. Back in the day (early 70s) when we would go to flatmate's parents for Sunday lunch.
After Swiss Ball yesterday and a morning of digging and pulling nettles, my bingo wings are sore as is my back, (although I wore a lumbar belt to dig). Still, I have dug over about a third of the vegetable garden. Satisfaction. Also sowed a mixture of turnips and carrots.
Funny weather today. Overcast and still. Neither cold, nor warm.
Today's saying is: Si tu veux oignons, siegle, petits pois Sème-les vers la Saint Benoit
An aside....I usually have to type this about 10 times before the spell check gives up!!
Enjoy your Tuesday and Dove! Enjoy a glass of wine tonight (or 2)!!
I know this is naughty, but, I have just heard whilst I was down in the village, that the barn that ex NDN was doing up a barn on his new property has collapsed.
Yes, I did laugh, as apparently have a few other people.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
