I got an unexpected hug from my now taller than me 15 yr old grandson when we arrived. In fact we got hugs all round which was lovely. Even the dog came to say hello.
It has been raining here since this morning so haven't been out. Waiting now for the g/children to get home from school.
That is so frustrating @D0rdogne_Damsel, fingers crossed for a positive result on Wednesday.
Fingers also crossed for @coccinella, best wishes to you and to Allotment Boy's SIL's mother (hope I've got that correctly).
Oh @Buttercupdays it seems that you an I went to the same school!! We lived in Beckenham at the time and I was 7 when I first went there - into The Elms - then to The Homestead (if I remember correctly). We then moved to Purley which meant travelling via the train each day. I didn't pass the entrance exam so parents scrimped and saved to keep me in the Senior school. We then moved to our first small holding in Selsdon - down the Vale next to the bird sanctuary - long trek up the steep hill and down the other side to catch the bus to Croydon. I was just 15 when I got my first horse and had to work pretty hard that year to look after her and concentrate on my exams but managed to pass enough to get into the Croydon Tech Collage for a year and a few years later to get me off to take my British Horse Society exams needed for my chosen future. Croydon High moved to Selsdon the year I left, would have saved me a lot of travelling had it move a year earlier! So many happy memories.
Gosh, all this talk of Croydon, I also went to senior school there in the early 1960's. Caught the train from Coulsdon everyday, even got my first Saturday job there at C&A.
Well it is a very small world. Croydon was also our main shopping centre, but the real coincidence is with you @AnnaB, my uncle Len had a smallholding in Selsdon Vale, his place was behind Jack Lanes nursery, the track down went right past Jack's. Len's holding was mixed, Pigs, Poultry, and market gardening, he used to supply places like Selsdon Park Hotel , and many others, with veg and salad crops.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ My son is home with us … we brought him home yesterday …
now he’s tucked up in a double bed in the living room, snug under a duvet and the Welsh blanket he knew as a child. He wasn’t happy in his room in the rehab ward … lonely and sad and not eating … everyone agreed that tlc and home cooking is what’s needed now. He has slept well overnight and morning have been administered and eye drops applied. Now he’s sound asleep again. It’s not going to be straightforward … he’s a big chap and very weak … but we have a zimmer and he’s very determined. I take him back for outpatients on Thursday. ❤️

Woken by the sound of ducks on the pond, lovely, but wish they could start a bit later.
