Another blustery day here, and cloudier than yesterday. Hope to pop out for a light lunch later. We had planned a trip to The Deep today but have postponed to next week - didn’t fancy a blustery journey on the motorway. That’s the beauty of retirement, being able to pick and choose.
I’m glad that you are starting to feel a little better @Pat E. I love your cloud pictures. The first one does look rather like a seal turning its head to look backwards, and the second one looked to me like a chunky aircraft, though I can visualise an upside down seal come to mention it 😁.
February already, although January always seems such a long, drawn out month. Probably due to having had all the busyness of December, so that January can seem rather flat, and in this part of the hemisphere, grey and dismal. On the plus side, the daylight hours are increasing and some spring bulbs are beginning to blossom or push through. We’re not done with winter just yet, though. February and March can throw some beastly winter weather at us, so no packing the woollies away just yet.
The hospital has rung. OH has a date for his operation! 23rd February, 2 days before his birthday. I hope his pre-op assessment the week before goes OK.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Splendid news @Busy-Lizzie, fingers crossed it all goes well this time.
Well, we awoke to lovely sunshine with a breeze so I thought I would handwash another of the old curtains. Managed that, struggled to get it onto the line, spreadeagled out over the top of the rotary so it could drip dry. The sun promptly disappeared and we have grey skies. It's also quite blustery so I've had to tie the washing line to the nearest bench. The weight of the wet curtain was tilting the dryer over to one side which really needs to be concreted in.
I'm all bunged up today and going through tissues at a rate of knots and feel a bit droopy so won't be doing much else today. OH has gone for a haircut.
Lovely pics @Pat E, glad you're starting to feel better.
Expensive week! Heading off to Exeter yesterday, just onto the dual carriageway when the tyre pressure warning light came on. Had to detour back at the next exit, ( why didn’t it come on a minute earlier when we could have turned round easily?) and got ourselves home safely. Bl***y puncture. Into the garage this morning for a replacement front tyre, plus a new one on the other side to keep the wear even. Bit painful, had to come up to the Donkey Sanctuary for compensatory coffee and a snack to soothe the nerves! A walk to follow, fresh air and exercise, plus donkeys to pet, should help a lot. Happy belated birthday, @raisingirl. Great news, @Busy-Lizzie. Hang in there, @Pat E, thyroids can be very slow to respond, but you should start to feel better eventually!

I hope everyone has a good day.
