Morning all. It was lovely and quiet in the bedroom last night, heaven. It must  have rained overnight as ground is wet but we didn't hear it. zits quite mild out this morning but I'm having an easy day today, we are have a very early visit from son and 23 tomorrow so need to have bags of reserve energy for him!
LB, you take care and " use" your eyes as little as possible, no reading Tolkien😱😂 Rest them as much as possible.
Debs, have a good last day at work before your hols, ( great excitement in the Debs household now.)

Hi folks,  Well, I have actually been in the garden today.  Spent a couple of hours this morning tidying the front garden, wanted to do more but the backs of my legs were aching so I came indoors and plan to do a bit more tomorrow.  Lots of snowdrops and crocus already out and the daffs and tulips are about 4-6 inches high.
It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow but a bit colder so I hope to tidy the helibores up and removed some more dead foliage fingers crossed it's not too cold.
LB, like everyone else I hope you get your eyes sorted soon.

  • Topbird enjoy the hot tub and sauna, how relaxing.  Hazel it’s good the window guy has been and sorted.  LB pleased your eyes are slightly better, magnifiers are a godsend.  Debs hope work went okay and plenty of free time for you now.  Yvie I’ve seen your lovely artwork on the crafters thread.  Ante hope you’ll soon be out of pain and can feel more yourself.  I’ve sorted Lilys tv and it’s all hung to dry.  Was rather a windy blustery night.

Good afternoon all. Just watched Ireland paste (Ante = beat easily) Wales (YES!!!) sorry Wales supporters.
I thought I had mentioned that I had an appointment at the ophthalmology department next Wednesday morning at 09:15 - maybe I didn't. Plus they are not painful at all but thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts.
I find it very strange how my sight is dreadful in the mornings but gradually improves through the day. By no means perfect yet but much improved. Its also odd how on a macro level all is fine, its just the tiny text that is impossible.
Debs have a wonderful week away - just kick back and unwind.
Hazel, glad to read that your windows are now nicely sealed.
Rosie, I had Liiy's TV on today. and as I was bringing in the last of the dry cloth things I felt several big drops of rain. Phew!
    Calcutta Cup now.

Well that was a disappointment. England lost - again. Scotland were triumphant. I am going to sign out for today. Enjoy your evenings all. See you in the morning.

LB, yes you did mention your eye appointment on Wednesday. I mentioned going to the eye outpatient department if your eyes got worse ( ie before your appointment). However good to hear that they are not sore so hopefully you will find out what's wrong on Wednesday. Expect to be well inspected and have drops put in.....when my OH last went to see the eye specialists, he had any number of test and drops etc done before he actually saw the doctor.
Signing out for now. Night all.

I've now tidied up and mulched 2/3 of the long border and pruned the 2 climbing roses on the fence.

We went to have a wander around Wilko this afternoon, bought compost accelerator, gardening rubber shoes for OH and various bits and pieces. Then went over the road to Iceland, gosh it's good value. Bought a couple of Chinese meals, cod in batter, and a fresh not frozen joint of rump steak for £5.50 on offer, should do 3 meals.

On the way home we went to the community pub, 1/2 a pint of beer for me and a pint of cider for OH. It has won awards from Camra, very good and regularly changed real ales. It's always quite lively there.

    Morning all,

Had a few hours in the CA but didn't go straight to bed when I woke up. So I'm up now! Could be a lazy day wandering around like a zombie. Although there is a lot that I ought to be getting on with.

Good morning Biglad and all to follow.

I spent whole day yesterday mostly in bed. I developed a flu with all those lovely symptoms, coughing and sneezing, runny nose. The forecast was correct except one thing, wind. It's cold and it's snowing, but no wind. I was outside to refill bird feeders, and now is time for hot tea.

Wish you all nice and warm Sunday.

Good morning Biglad, Ante and all arriving later.
Ante I am so sorry to read about you coming down with the 'flu. I think today should be a nioce, quiet day for you - keeping warm and planning your seed sowing.
Biglad, there is nothing wrong with having some quiet time when it is needed. Still early yet and you will probably rally through the day.

I am pleased to report that there is a slight improvement in my vision this morning. I can actually see my facial features in the mirror. Fingers crossed.
I hope we all have wonderful Sundays
