Hazel, it is interesting to hear your OH had to use the drops for 6 weeks. I'm hoping these next two weeks will be all I have to do. It can be a very interesting (and hilarious!) experience trying to put drops into your own eyes. I think I'm getting the hang of it now after several 'dribbling down the cheeks' disasters. I am beginning to think that the 5ml bottle I was dispensed will not last the fortnight. Time will tell.
T'Bird, I have seen swans coming into land on frozen water and that is also hilarious. They end up sliding on their bums looking most ungraceful. I felt a bit chilly just reading your post.
Busy, my friend who is going in for her knee op on Monday tells me she has to use a special (as she calls it) decontamination shower gel every evening before going in as MRSA prevention. She is a little apprehensive but looking forward to getting it done.
Biglad, that must be so frustrating for you. I know that allotments are at a premium in most places. Chey, one of our past members on Rez and who I still keep in touch with, had to wait a year in Buxton to get his. He shares it with a neighbour. I'm not sure whether he will have time to do much now though as he is in training with one of the budget airlines at Manchester Airport.

Evening all,  Had a busy few days looking after Jonah and Gabriel.  Managed to get into the garden the weekend.  A couple of hours on Saturday to sort out the front garden and 3 hours on Sunday in the back garden.  Still have a lot to do but the green bin is full ready for a collection on Tuesday.  I've also ordered my container plants and sorted out what seeds I will be sowing.
Sorry to hear you have flu Ante hope you will soon feel better.
Glad your eyes are improving LB and that it's not too serious.
Enjoy your hols Debs and glad your Birthday went well.
    Enjoy Germany Topbird.

Yvie, you have been very busy these last few days. Well done on getting the green bin filled - that task is top of my to do list but a lot of my green garden waste will be going onto my compost heap. I need to cut back some shrubs.
I am signing out for tonight all. See you in the morning. Hazel, that is good news about Gardeners World.

LB, my OH woke up one day to be unable to look directly into light. When the doc saw his reaction he referred him urgently to the hospital...his appointment was at 9am the next day. It was very debilitating for him and painful. He had to take daily drops  of 6,5,4,3,2,1 over the respective number of weeks.
Biglad, its a shame that you can't get your name down on the allotment list, you'll just have dig up more lawn😂
LB, how is Chey doing these days? Happy and well, I hope.
Busy, I laughed out loud at your description of the  duster🤭😂 We have some very clever alternative descriptions for our daily chores on here😂
Topbird, glad you had an interesting time at the museum despite the invasions of school childrenThe frozen lake reminds me of when the lake in Windermere was frozen solid and folks walked across it. Brrr🥶 I haven't seen a swan in years now. I used to see them quite frequently here and there, but none for ages now. They're lovely too.
Yvie, you have been busy in the garden and alongside child minding. Well done.

I am not going to Bestie's today as its a bit of a faff (Ante = something that causes slight problems) with the eye drops. I have plenty to do here.
Hazel, your OH's experience sounds far, far worse than mine. Our friend Chey is doing very well. I love hearing all his stories about his new friendships and his new career. He seems so much happier in himself.
Now it is time for a cuppa.

    Morning everyone,

It’s another bright start to the day again, after a chilly night.
OH and I had a lovely day yesterday at a nearby RSPB reserve. We saw a variety of birds and had a good walk around the reserve taking in the sunshine and the beautiful scenery. (It’s amazing how nature soon takes over what was formerly a site of heavy industry). We are very fortunate to have this site so close by.
It’s my pilates class later then I’m not sure what I’ll be doing, but as it looks as if it’s going to be another glorious day, I intend getting outside again.

I hope your eye is feeling easier today @Ladybird4 and the treatment soon works its magic.

    Have a god day folks.

Good morning everyone .So good to read that Chey is doing well LB. You will soon get used to putting your eye drops in your eyes .I hope they help.
Red Maple it’s lovely to have those reserves not far from home . We have the Harewood estate not far from where we live .It is full of wildlife including lots of birds .So uplifting to be out and smell the fresh air,a real tonic .

    Morning all.

I saw a swan on Tuesday. After we took our friend to hospital it was a bit early for lunch so his wife and I walked around the gardens behind the cathedral in Bury St Edmunds. There was a swan on the river. There are also aviaries that I'd never noticed before full of brightly coloured birds like budgies and love birds.

We are still on call to fetch our friend from hospital. We need to do the weekly shop but it can wait until tomorrow.

Good morning all. Lovely day at Blenheim yesterday and I slept like a log last night. We didn’t walk around all of the park and gardens but did a fair bit. When people come into the pharmacy wanting sleeping pills I am often tempted to tell them a long walk in the fresh air would do them more good and I proved myself right last night.
Hope all poorly people are getting better.
Lazy day here I bought a book yesterday so planning to sit and read while fiancé watches TV.
