LB, that exactly what I have in my house. Black tiled floor and walls have white tiles. Tiles are not square ones but long rectangular. I'm lucky that we have plenty of sun on the coast, and every room has large windows (like every house around).
@Ante1, I think I didn't understand. I thought all your tiles were black, floor and walls! My house in France is very old, built of stone. The kitchen floor tiles are creamy beige and other floors are wood or imitation lime washed wood. Your house sounds very modern with glass and black tiled floors.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning everyone .I like black and white tiles in a checker board pattern. Not everyone’s cup of tea . My Sunday school teacher had abig house . The bathroom was amazing. It had black and white tiles to waist height white above .It looked so clean and bright . We couldn’t use dark tiles in our bathroom it’s far too small . I have a couple of little shrubs to plant if it’s not too cold .I down loaded some more books last night ,could be reading.Enjoy your day.
Come on Ante! Just think about how well the winter wheat did. I think we will have a super season. The tiles on my bathroom wall are long rectangular too. I love them.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning all. I think it's a bit milder this morning, certainly the cold wind has subsided. I might try and do a bit in the garden later, nothing much to do really but will turn the soil in the most compacted areas and after a lily's TV has done its job, I may just put some material bits on the string😉 First,we have to pop to *esco . Debs, when do you return home? Is it this weekend? We have always quite traditional in our house decorations , have never followed trends as such, but since we've moved, we've been a bit more adventurous and have light grey walls, white walls, white tiles in bathroom, ceramic tiles on floors etc and have wallpapered some walls and then painted them with some more modern paint colours. Similar with the furnishings. Must get on now, so see you later.
@Songbird-2 we go home on Monday we have Sunday lunch booked for tomorrow at a restaurant where fiancé knows the chef, he used to work with him and really rates his food so hoping it will be delicious.
Ive spent an hour or so in the garden, it's turned out beautiful here, almost like a summers day...warm, no wind and plenty of bird song. Got my things on the string dry so very pleased I don't need to drape them everywhere inside. Hoed the soil, took some plastic domes off the plants to let them have some lovely fresh air, and gave some dry places around the garden a bit of a watering. Things seem to have perked up a bit now, it's been quite a while since we had some rain. Tim for some knitting now, nearly finished the baby blanket.
It sounds as if you’ve had a lovely week so far @debs64; a bit of sightseeing, a bit of relaxing and good food, excellent 😁.
Like you, @Songbird-2 I managed to get my cloth things on the string today and hope they’re dry, as we’ve had some sunny spells, so 🤞.
Popped out to a nearby GC for some lunch earlier, and a look around. Didn’t buy anything other than the lunch today though. Last week I bought some dwarf Iris to put in the garden, which I did as soon as I got home. The temptation to buy is always there, but I firmly resisted today 😂.
@Red maple, the temptation is just going to get worse / grow more and more as the weeks go by from now on😂 Just wait u til places, shops, garden centres have their plants out on show😬 Will we resist?🤭
No, I don’t think we will, @Songbird-2 😂😂. Ive just been looking at the thread asking how much money we spend on our gardens - I really don’t know, but imagine quite a lot! 😂
