@Songbird-2 Those are very cute. Just got in from 3 hours in the garden, scratched all over and I think I have horse manure in my new wellies but what a glorious day! Coat off after 10 minutes, birds singing and everything smells so wonderful even the manure! Going to have lunch then back out.

@debs64, thanks. Wow! Three hours gardening....unheard of here, too cold. Having said that, it is a much milder day here at 9degrees but there's a good wind blowing about. Bet you've done loads, well done!

    Hello all.
It's fairly sunny, yet the sky looks grey.

I think my rose has phyophthera in its roots. Coccinella put a link to Gardener's Question Time and it was mentioned so I've been reading about it.

Well done Debs, you must have warmer weather than here.

Clouding over now and rain is forecast but I have just planted 15 foxglove plants grown from seeds in the shady area by the greenhouse where my Japanese anemones have been sulking for 4 years so that saves watering. Moved a rose that was struggling and planted some cut price clematis from last autumn up against my netting. Also planted my rose lily bulbs and lots of tidying up done. Going to have a shower and a cuppa. What a perfect way to spend a Sunday and a real tonic after the horrible weather earlier this week.

Afternoon all,  It was lovely here early morning @debs64 but now it's gone really cloudy and miserable so I'm not venturing into the garden.
Not sure what I'll be doing for the rest of the day, feeling a bit down, more trouble with Secondborn's ex.  He's refusing to abide by the court ruling to allow her to get the rest of her things from the house and he's changed the locks which the court order says he can't do until after he has allowed her access.  The police can't do anything because it's a civil case so we simply don't know where to go with this.  She can't afford to get into debt by hiring a solicitor she's still paying off her debt for the actual divorce.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Hazel I hope things get sorted out with the pharmacist.  Hope all those feeling under the weather soon improve.  Topbird it’s so easy to forget about things.  The list of things to do can be distracting.  I hope you can soon get sorted and through your good thinking.   The snow is melting presently and there’s been sunshine.  Probably too cold to go out in the garden presently but we’ll done to those who were warm enough to venture out.

Busy, such a shame to lose that beautiful rose. I saw it on the other thread. Absolutely stunning. Hope the replacement  will end looking as good when mature.
How is your OH feeling today ? Any better? Did he sleep better too?
Yvie, I'm sorry to hear your daughter is still having problems with her ex. What an awful thing of him to do. Could she perhaps get some advice from the CAB?
Rosie.  thank you, I, too, hope I can  get something sorted tomorrow. A month is long enough to be like this. Hope you are keeping warm and staying safe.
Debs, I planted out some foxgloves grown from seeds a few weeks ago. They seem to be doing alright and are growing. I really hope they turn out white like their parent! We have plenty of Fritillaries coming through now and even have some flower buds forming.

    Good afternoon all.
Oh my goodness T'Bird that is a real chapter of disasters. Fingers crossed that you get your essential delivery this week. At least it is meant to be milder next week. Enjoy the Zoom of the Hawaiian wedding. What a lovely start to married life.
I rang Jackie's daughter today as I hadn't heard anything from her ( she actually sounds very poorly herself. Apparently her asthma is 'out of control' and she is hoping to get in touch with her Doc. tomorrow.) and Jack has been moved into the acute stroke unit. She said he seemed a little better yesterday but couldn't remember her being in to see him on Friday. Her son is going visiting today. He may be in hospital then rehab to assist his leg movement for a while yet. I will try to see him this week.
Those are cute purchases Hazel. Were they bought with a certain small person in mind?
Debs you seem to have had a wonderful day. Be careful though, with all that horse manure in youre wellies you might grow several inches taller.
Yvie I felt really sad for your daughter when I read your post. Is there any mileage in her getting in touch with the courts to explain the situation? What he has done is clearly illegal and keeping her property is surely theft? Sorry but I am clueless about that sort of thing. I find it very strange that the police cannot do anything about it. What about bailiffs?
Rosie, have you still get snow where you are? I doubt you and your Dad got out for a walk today.
I have recently returned from a walk up to the post box - I had three cards to send off and I just needed to get outside even though it was spitting and spotting with rain. It did feel a tad warmer as well.

Topbird enjoy the wedding, lucky souls to be in such a wonderful part of the world. I hope you’re going to wear a wedding hat though to crown off your artic wardrobe😂
LB I was sorry to hear the news about Jack and his poor daughter. I hope, if you do manage to get to see him, that he’s improving well. Might be quite a while until he gets back home though?
