I have serious 'smug face' on here. I braced myself, approached the garage door with care and opened it as quietly as possible. I grabbed all sorts of small electrical trash (how many cables does a sane person require?) including booster and set top boxes from my fave internet provider, - I am sick to the back teeth of asking - over 4 years now - for them to collect them, old light bulbs and dead batteries. Filled the car boot and then did a Hazel - a jolly drive to the tip. I really, really enjoyed the smash, tinkle and ping as I threw everything into the respective skips. One job done which has been waiting quite a while to be completed. I think I might have an early lunch. It has started to rain here again - deep joy!

I have an old computer in the loft. I'm one of those people who retains the latest replaced one, "in case the newest one breaks down".

I preferred Windows 7 to the later alternatives. However, with a (hopeful) move on the cards, my wife quite rightly says it has to go. I hate the idea of downsizing, but a bungalow is needed, rather than a large house.

Thankfully we know a local charity that will take it - wiped clean. I explained to my wife that doesn't mean dusting it.

    Sigh!!

That is a classic @rowlandscastle44!  I too loved Windows 7 but have now got used to Windows 11 and wouldn't go back. I haven't quite got round to downsizing my IT 'stuff' and I am not yet prepared to bite that bullet. I daren't even confess to how many PCs and laptops I possess. Jolly well done LB, that's what we like to hear. Clear out the old, bring in the new....says she who has drawers full of odd wires, plugs for this, plugs for that, chargers, computer connectors 🤭😬 but not too many drawers😲

Ive had a very upsetting morning appointment with the clinical pharmacist. She was adamant that no more steroids were on offer, and my new(? Didn't even know my old doctor had retired and I had a new doctor) doctor is now questioning the diagnosis by a hospital Specialist. She wants me referred back to a Neurologist and a blood test taken. Til then, just go away and suffer the pain. I came out in tears.
I could say a lot more but I won't. Sorry, rant over.

I was appalled to read your post. What has happened to caring for patients and helping them to recover? Keep your chin up and remember if you want to rant, feel free. It may not ease the pain but perhaps, knowing we all think about you, it might just keep you buoyed up until you have to go through the next procedure. x

Oh dear @Songbird-2 how disappointing for you.  Your new doctor really ought to see you before changing the prescription and questioning the diagnosis. Though, actually, steroids aren't without risk and side effects and doctors often don't like people to take them too long unless vitally necessary. But if he wants you to stop them he should offer an alternative for your pain.

Thanks LB and Busy. I only ever take steroids when the PR flares up and not for many weeks. I'm just appalled at how I was treated, it was really upsetting.I asked the lady if she could give me something else for the pain and she said, " No". I'm still really upset at the whole thing. And it felt like they were saying they don't believe what I'm saying about being in pain and then questioning a specialist diagnosis. Unbelieveable.
  • Hazel I hope you get an appmt soon and I’m sorry you are going through this.  Fingers crossed. A rainy day, snow has gone.
