Reasons to be cheerful 2023

I've just had a call to say I'm getting free solar panels, and air source heat pump, and loft insulation.
    Devon.
  • I happened to pass the sack that takes our recycling items, and saw my wife's old mobile phone case there.
Knowing that she sometimes puts in things that don't recycle, I opened it up to check. I could see a piece of something in the side pocket, and as I'm the curious sort, took it out to have a look.
It turns out to be a £5 note - which is my reason to be cheerful.
The main question is (with my wife currently out), do I tell her?
    😁

I suggest that a theoretical question be submitted first … 😉

Reassuringly my obviously Much Better half  thinks you should tell her 😀

As my wife says, what’s hers is hers, and what’s mine is hers too.
How can you lie there and think of England

I opted to to the right thing, and told her.
Guess what!? She said I could keep it.
    😁

    Edited to add.
It was all my money anyway, and so I'm just getting it back. It'll end up paying for bills, etc, so she doesn't really lose out.

We have a joint account, have had ever since we got married over 40 years ago.  That doesn't stop my wife saying on occasion that she will pay when we go out for a meal.  Bless. :D

Had our flu jabs this morning, really slick arrangements at our GP practice, we were in and out in minutes. Arms feeling ok so far.
I’d double booked the jab with an appointment to collect my new glasses, so had to move the latter till later, and was worried I’d have to get a later bus home. When I got to town, I decided to pop into Specsavers and see if they had an earlier cancellation I could have. Asked to wait, and was seen almost immediately, new glasses checked and fitted, and on my way home early enough that OH didn’t have to miss any rugby collecting me from the bus stop.
Hope this won’t  be treated as advertising, other opticians are available, and one can have a completely different experience at a different branch of the same chain, but the treatment I have had at Exeter Specsavers has been almost faultless! Credit where credit is due!

Looking forward to finding out. I have a gallon of merlot fermenting in the kitchen at the moment, first good crop from a vine bought by friends for me in Bordeaux. I don't imagine Petrus will be worried about the competition though :D
