I've just finished clearing out the laundry cupboard, the porch and the welly store in anticipation of our new boiler being installed soon. The rubbish I've accumulated!
Why do I keep collecting cardboard boxes, tins, bubblewrap, rags, paper and plastic bags etc?

Yesterday's lunch included rocket and parsley from the garden - no idea how it survived minus 6, but I'm not complaining.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Yes - they often get up and fly away @floralies, but I had a little casualty a while ago - a young dunnock flew straight into my bedroom window and popped his clogs  :/
Ironically, the smallest windows on the back of the house. I was intending getting a blind for that window anyway, so that made me order one.
Do you grow the wild rocket @Liriodendron? It survives minus 10s and 11s here no problem. It's fairly indestructible   :)

Early Doors is being repeated on BBC4 tonight. It’s one of my all time favourites.

  • I'm trying to find something to be cheerful for. My neighbour has just commenced a self-build loft extension. We live in a terraced house, so hear and feel every thud.
He gave no warning of this, and is a bully, big time. Unfriendly, a liar, and without consideration for those around him - either side!
Not in the same league as Putin, but severely unpleasant.
Anyone got a beautiful photo to brighten things up?
    Please!!

Is he complying with Party Wall Regulations?  I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure there’s stuff he’s legally bound to do. I think @raisingirl will know more …

    I agree with @pansyface and @Dovefromabove's comments @rowlandscastle444.
Were you notified by the council of the works? As the immediate neighbour, you certainly should have been. Have you spoken to anyone else around you too?
How horrible for you.  I know the problem only too well  :/

My tiny RTBC is that it might be dry for most of the day, but I'm slightly wary of saying it.... ;)
