The enclosed scanners are no fun, that's for sure.  I've been in them and in the type which looks like a big doughnut, which is much better.  I'm not claustrophobic and just kept my eyes shut in the enclosed one.  I can identify with the offhand technician.  He set my up on the bed and positioned my arms with elbows sticking out.  As I went in my elbow hit the surround and he shouted at me to keep still as he'd have to start again.  Unfortunately there was no mic, just an emergency button, so I waited until it was finished and gave him both barrels.  Still no apology though.

I think it's the song that I hate most in all the world but it's wonderful to see that it is doing some good. If they play it to me in my dotage, they will certainly get a reaction.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Same here @B3 … but my understanding is that there were other well known songs that had a similar effect.

  • The number one tune played at funerals apparently. If I played that at my mum's (87) funeral she'd rise up and deck me!

Speaking of mother, this may seem like an odd RTBC but she was taken into hospital this afternoon having had another seizure (the 3rd ever in her life). She was very small and pathetic and probably a bit scared even though she couldn't say it; it's the worst I've seen her after fitting.

She is warm, comfortable and in a safe place with 24hour nursing care and my RTBC is that I can sleep with both ears and both eyes closed for the first time in months. Hurrah!

    Sweet dreams @plant pauper.

It's raining and the forecast is for overnight storms and 3" of rain.   Not reliable unfortunately so fingers and toes crossed.

Enjoy it while it lasts and don't feel guilty for doing so @plant pauper. Caring is very hard work without much respite and carers really need to look after themselves when they can.
