Can't really compare opera with football - football's more the pop music of sport Admittedly live football seems to get more airtime than any kind of live music, and I'm pretty sure there's more sport on TV than arts altogether. Personally I'd rather there was more arts (and more science-based documentaries) but there's no denying that a lot of people like to watch sport.

@Hostafan1 4 in 10 years is hardly a massive growth in interest..
that's 4 in addition to those already being used.
I'm not suggesting one broadcast a week, but one a year doesn't seem unreasonable.
How many folk watched women's football 5 years ago?

There’s loads of opera available online … most of the major opera house websites stream opera … I think part of the problem is that very few folk have the size of screen and quality of sound equipment that would make broadcast opera really enjoyable for those of us who love it.  The BBC did have an Opera Season a few years ago and while the talks and interviews and backstage visits were interesting, i found the screening of the operas themselves very frustrating because of the factors I’ve mentioned.  I really don’t think tv is a suitable medium to show opera at anything like its best.

I find the screened performances at the cinema so much more enjoyable  and worth paying for, and of course going to see the touring opera companies when they come to Norwich Theatre Royal.  They’re definitely a reason to be cheerful 😃

My "Moonlight" runner beans are going great guns (thank you for the recommendation, @Dovefromabove!)  And not a tough or stringy one among them.   :)

I have been trying to order a particular plant and have had no success as nobody posts live plants here any more it seems. (FOOEY I say! Can't be ar$ed with the paperwork I say!). I tried about five places and gave up.
Anyhoo...quite by accident I found a local supplier. Hurrah!
I wonder where he got his? Hmm? HMM? Somebody must have sent sent him them.
My RTBC is I can now order from him and not have to get it sent to @Liriodendron and drive four hours to pick it up! (I would bring cake Liri 😍).

Are you in NI, @plant pauper?  I imagine you'll have tried Ballyrobert...  they seem really good, but of course nobody stocks everything.   :)

I did try them @Liriodendron but they don't stock it. I've even been there. It's quite near my old house and conveniently on the way to the vet. £££££££
The chap I found is in Newtownards and I've had lots of stuff from him in the past. The only one issue I had was a suspies looking silver birch in my bundle of five. I didn't plant it but kept an eye on it and it grew into a poplar! 🤣

We've had a stormy morning with lots of thunder but, at last, a decent amount of rain too.   Not forecast so a pleasant surprise and the garden is looking refreshed.  Still got hot and sticky this pm but should be cooler tomorrow.

It was a bit violent at times so I hope all is well with the southern posters - @Busy-Lizzie, @floralies and @tui34.
