Well, people,I never thought I would be posting on this thread!!! Two things, after 15 solid months of multiple health problems,6 to be precise, many overlapping, being in pain, unable to move/walk at some points, yesterday I sat under the eucalyptus in the garden tacking a bench seat cover for the cushion I made for the new dining bench, listening to the blackbird. Hubby was doing his crossword and our robin came and sat on the paper on his lap. I had NO PAIN. I was full of beans, had my first "proper" (and home cooked) meal in I don't know how long! I was almost wired! Had my first cup of tea, after a strict anti inflammatory diet, actually THREE things....IT BLOODY RAINED!!! Had a friend visit, said she couldn't believe I'm not terrified of my endocrinologists consultant appointment Wednesday morning, that will come.
Loads of lightning around midnight and a bit of rain as I went to bed - and it seems like we had about 9mm of rain overnight according to the local weather station. Not quite water butt filling amounts, but at least rain. It must have been a bit breezy out there last night as well, as a potted peach tree was blown over. Any thunder wasn't loud enough to wake me up though.
SteveTu,yes, the storm was centred over Eastbourne. Few claps of thunder. The rain didn't seem to film for long, but,2 waterbutts off the bungalow and conservatory...in tandem, full one off the summer house half full. Lightening was exactly 11.30 to 12.30 there wasn't a puff of wind, I expect the heavy rain pushed the peach over. Ergates🤞
Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better...hopefully a bit of rain then a 'normal' summer will keep you perked up.
My son was down near the Lottbridge Tescos, and he saw it coming in from the sea (stars disappeared) .. he said it was quite windy, with little rain.
I'm not sure where the local weather station is (https://www.sunwharf.com/) but I think it's down near Ratton (I would guess that's Butt's Brow in the photo) . We'd had 3mm, and now show 12mm, so 9mm overnight - the winds were low here last night. I don't follow the peach tree falling over as it's quite heavy and sparsely leaved. Maybe I have goblins down that end of the garden...
