A dry, bright day today but the bones of the house are still cold through.
Shattered from driving today - a hospital appointment for Dad (40 mile round trip) but after taking him home my last leg home was almost gridlock so that took nearly an hour just for that 5 miles. Just had a lovely toastie and soup and will have an early night.
I hope you can process what you need too @punkdoc. Being absorbed in your books will help it along. That new book smell is one of life’s lovely things.
Happy (big) Birthday @Allotment Boy" 🎂 - I hope you are having a lovely celebration.
I hope that you will all have a good day, a special thought to those of you who are battling with medical tests and doctors. I have an appointment on 22nd of Feb and I am already having to do breathing exercises whenever I think of it, dreading it.
Today I am likely to do nothing of interest but tomorrow I am booked for a first aid course. It is 9 to 5 with a break for lunch, I hope I will last it! I am also a little squeamish 🤢😂.
Waiting’s the worst bit isn’t it @coccinella … it’s ok, we’ll wait with you. And we’ll hide in your handbag and come with you … all we need are some sticky sweets to keep us quiet 😉

Hot Pot Supper went very well, as did the quiz, a really nice evening actually, a lot of fun for all.
Busy day again today too, the local newspaper are coming to photograph CdeG handing over a cheque to a local charity, we donated 5€ a head from the big Christmas Lunch we did in December, plus ran a raffle, so we are giving them just over 400€.
Then this evening, a TV company is coming to film our Knitting Club, so best frock on today and hope the hair lasts all day....probably no, but hey ho.
Best wishes to all, especially those with health issues, such a worry. @coccinella, I feel your pain regards waiting, it is unbearable and terrible on the nerves, stay strong. xx
Btw, I have written this post without my glasses on, so apologies for any typos, it's all a blur.

My O my we really pushed the boat out last night. My wife had booked dinner at the Ritz it's as much about the theatre as the food though that was superb. We had the tasting menu, and though that means the portions look small everything is very rich so more than enough. Punkdoc would have loved it for sure..
Mont Blanc is one of my favourite desserts from waaaay back ... good to see it coming back into fashion ... I've noticed it appearing on a few good menus lately.

I shall make sure to get the largest handbag with me that day. I will pack plenty of refreshments. 😘
