Thank you @Desi_in_London and absolutely everyone who has sent me such kind messages and birthday wishes … I really have had a very lovely day. I’m a very lucky Dove 🕊 😉
Now I’m stuffed to the gills with very delicious Chinese food, and am being sent to bed before I fall asleep on the sofa.
Night night all … sleep tight 😴

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Thank you all for your kind messages yesterday … I had an absolutely lovely day. 😊
Art can be very powerful.
I spent some wonderful hours looking at art from cultures all over the world in the Sainsbury Centre yesterday, from paintings and sculpture by Bacon, Giacometti, Chagall, Degas and Frink to exquisite Ptolomeic turquoise carvings and ancient Japanese jade, spears for hunting walrus made by those who lived many years ago in the far north, and the carved prow of a Polynesian boat.
All powerful expressions of the human condition.

Morning all. Sorry I missed your birthday yesterday @Dovefromabove. We had to get up early for our first aid course and in the evening I was too tired to even to look at the Forkers. It looks like you had a good day: belated Happy Birthday to you.
So, I am now the proud owner of a "Certificat de Competences de Citoyen de Securité Civile - PSC1." It was really interesting and intense, I just hope I never have to use it.
Sorry to hear about your faithful furry companion @""Nanny Beach", looks quite the character.
That is a powerful image @Hostafan1. The void inside must feel immense, but I also see strong feet and strong arms. A reminder that you can still "do" things, if anything, to think of something else for a short while. Spring will come and you will be able to enjoy your hostas (I presume your garden is full of them elegant plants).
You didn't upset me @Hostafan1, just gave me a jolt. I recognised what it meant and how it felt straight away as I've been in that situation. I expect others here have too.
Grey again outside. Another quiet day, but my knee probably needs a bit of a rest.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
It’s trying to brighten up a bit now. I hope the sunshine doesn’t disappear like it did yesterday.
There were even less birds about yesterday than Friday, so will do another watch today, but think I’ll be submitting Fridays result at this rate. I’m sure they hide when it’s garden Birdwatch weekend.
Yes, that was a powerful piece of art work @Hostafan1. I think it sums up very well those feelings of loss and emptiness, but also as @coccinella says, the arms and feet are strong, to help us during our dark moments, and art offers powerful expressions of the human condition as @Dovefromabove says. 💐
Take care everyone. I hope you have a relaxing Sunday.
Belated birthday wishes, Dove. Sorry they’re late, had a busy few days. We went up to the big mall near Bristol on Thursday, and stayed overnight. Plan was really just to get out of the house, and maybe enjoy a little retail therapy. It was a nice break, but, as I’d expected, OH had forgotten that he doesn’t actually like shopping! Came home with a tin of soup from M and S, and I bought a very nice Pilates book for £1.10 in TKMaxx! A very expensive couple of purchases, but at least we felt we had been away. Now more inspired to put together a more interesting trip away. Such an emotive sculpture, Hostafan. More hugs to you. Hugs to Nanny Beach, been there quite a few times, doesn’t get any easier but a consolation that he had a long and happy life with you.
Thank you @coccinella and congratulations on your certificate ... I've done similar in the past and thankfully have never had to use it ... when there was a need there were thankfully other folk more qualified around ... but it's been good to know I could try to help if the situation arose.
The birds have deserted this garden this weekend too ... lots of folk do the count so there's extra food around ...

Good night all.
It reduces me to tears whenever I look at it.

Art is "us" warts and all.
Bird count today.
I wish everyone a lovely Sunday.
