That is such a powerful image @Hostafan1 - one that can easily bring the shock of recognition, as busy-lizzie describes.

I learnt a new word from the book I'm currently reading - anhedonia.Ā  It means the inability to feel pleasure from the things that should give you pleasure.Ā  When my OH was in the depths of depression I used to try and help people understand by saying that, on seeing a box of kittens we all go ah and feel warm and fuzzy, but he would merely note that there was a box of kittens present.Ā  That's anhedonia.Ā  I suppose it must have whatever is at the root of 'hedonism' in it.Ā Ā

OH is on lifelong meds and is perfectly OK now!Ā  He'd get a kitten tomorrow if I let him!

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
Another week starts … and I have to get up and be bright eyed and bushy tailed or whatever as the Virgin technician is coming this morning to change our box so that our phone is connected to t’internet rather than the copper wires (well that’s my understanding of it anyhow). I remember reading a while back that this would not be a good thing for folk in some rural areas as if there was a power cut they would be unable to contact the emergency services … however we’re not in that situation … there are always folk about … we have good internet signal and also have a power pack which is kept powered up for the mobile … and if we were in such a bind where we had no communication and one of us needed to get to hospital OH could put me in the wheelbarrow and push me there … it’s only a short distance … šŸ˜‰Ā

    Good morning Forkers,

If January is almost at an end winter is not. Nevertheless, little signs of spring are already visible or audible as birds are courting each other.Ā

Another uninteresting day ahead (a blessing really, as the Chinese say) might go to a friends' who has put away lots of 5 litres plastic containers for me, going to fill them with rain water and hide them behind the hedge. If we have another summer like last years' all this will be risible but hey I get to chat with a friend this morning :)Ā

Good luck with your technician Dove, and good day to all.

    Good morning to you all.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend - there were certainly some "interesting" comments on threads yesterday. Ā Got quite hot!!

Swiss Ball for me this morning so like you @Dovefromabove - looking sharp and able!! Ā The wheelbarrow is always an option!! Ā It is my friend as I use it to transport shopping bags from car to kitchen! Ā

It's going to be colder this week but sunny. Ā Still, that d**mn Tramontagne swooping down.

So today: Ā Prends garde Ć  la Sainte Martine, car souvent l'hiver se mutine!

But - the morning sunlight is earlier each day and sundown is a little later. Ā Spring is the best time of the year (yes, autumn too!)

    Have a warm day!

Lovely sunshine at the moment.Ā  Just the two meetings for me this afternoon.
As you say, @tui34 - some quite hot comments on some of the other threads.Ā  There we are, going along quite nicely, chatting about this and that and then along comes someone really quite spiteful.Ā  It rather spoils it all.

    Morning all.

Sunny here too, but noisily windy.

I wish that when someone spiteful arrives on a thread that people would just ignore it. Sometimes it seems that people just have to have their say too.

I really should get out and cut down some group 3 clematis which have shoots on them.

We too have sunshine and a brisk breeze @Busy-Lizzie and the washing is on the line for the first time in monthsĀ  B)

I mentioned to the Virgin technician that our tv has become a bit pixelated occasionally ... he said our digibox thingummy was old and he could replace it for usĀ  while he was here ... so he's done that ...Ā the possible downside is that we've lost all the programmes we'd already recorded ... but what the heck ... if we can't cope with that life doesn't hold much hope for us. I've already programmed Only Connect, Mastermind and University Challenge into the new box ... now to set it to record Vera ...

The other possible glitch will come when OH comes home from work and discovers that he'll have to put a new wifi password etc into the printer ... he has a love/hate relationship with that piece of tech and I think the feeling is mutual ... if OH is printing something important like a label that's got to catch the post it's guaranteed to play up, whereas if I want to print off a recipe it'll behave perfectly.

If you were the one being abused, you might feel somewhat different, @Busy-Lizzie
