Lucky you @floralies, I hope your recovery goes well.
Thank you @Dovefromabove. I may try that with the compost. I hope to use it all, mulching. I have a smaller bin too, that one is the one being filled at the moment. My leaf mould was in a big bag left from the gravel for the drive.
My sister's birthday is also on 6th June.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good afternoon. @floralies here's wishing you a speedy recovery. Take it easy.
This morning I went shopping. When I was going down the car with the trolley I remembered that next thursday is Liichtmessdag (Candlemas) when children knock at the door to bring the "light" by singing a song and carrying lanterns. Since they expect sweets in exchange I had to go back up to buy some. It is a sweet tradition really.
Still no go gardening, I have to be contented with browsing the web and look at old gardening books.
Good afternoon, It’s a very windy, blustery day today but the sky has been a lovely blue. I, too, recall snow in June @Pat E , though luckily it didn’t hang around. The weather can do very peculiar things sometimes. Hope you’re feeling better.
Hello, @floralies, I hope your recovery is speedy.
What a lovely tradition for Candlemas, @coccinella. We don’t do anything here these days as far as I’m aware. I do know that if you happen to forget to take down any Xmas decs after 12th night, then the tradition is you leave them up until Candlemas, and I think I’ve read somewhere that this is, or once was, the case at Sandringham (though I might have that wrong).
Afternoon all, Belated Happy Birthday to @raisingirl, hope you feel much more like yourself soon.
That's good news @floralies, I echo what everyone is saying, don't over it, do do the exercises every day, it really helps according to OH and don't worry about the scar, it fades really nicely.
Not done a great deal today as still feeling under par. I did manage an hour's weeding when the sun came out as I figured the fresh air might do me good.
OH walked to the local paper shop and bakery, bought Batons and soft rolls for me, walked home again (1.45 miles round trip), realized he'd left the rolls on the counter so had to walk back down again to get them. Not bad considering his hip op was only 5 months ago. I do hope your OH has his done in Feb @Busy-Lizzie.
Fingers crossed it's not the p f @AuntyRach, my friend had that and said it was agony.
Watched a very good prog on Putin last night on BBC. Scary!
Glad to hear that your op went well @floralies, as everyone has said, take it easy and behave yourself.
Belated birthday wishes to @raisingirl hope things pick up for you again very soon.
You are certainly having some strange weather this year @Pat E, but I remember my Dad telling me years ago that he had flown into Rome airport in a snow storm in June. - well the plane he was in flew into the airport not my Dad himself .......... getting myself tied into knots here as usual, but you know what I mean.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
