Morning all. Blowing a gale here too and we have to go into town to chemists brrrr. Must wrap up well. No parties here either, as Red says, those days are long gone. I remember a good neighbour did a Fancy Dress Party for the turn of the Century which was great fun. OH and I went dressed as in the last War. Good music, booze and dancing was the name of game that night. Couldn't even think of doing that now.😬 Hope you all have a good day whatever you're doing.
Raining. We are having a quiet day. We won't be doing anything for New Year. I've always preferred Christmas anyway. I hope it will be the year that OH has his hip replacement.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello everyone. It has been quite an emotional day for me today as family and friends got together to celebrate the life of our brother. Lots of funny tales and happy memories.
Once upon a long time ago we used to go to a local pub in fancy dress to see in the new year but as some of you have mentioned - we don't do that any more. I don't even worry about staying up to see the new year in. Every day is a new years day to me

I was just thinking about your Remembrance Day yesterday LB and wondered if it was this month or last month. I hadn't wanted to miss it to say that I hope the day would be a gathering of all family and friends to recognise the love you all felt for your brother and to try and remember some happy times. It will still be very raw for you and hard too but take some time to process it and be kind to yourself.
I've have spent most of my day doing much of the same as yesterday...this time in the kitchen where a certain item gets a good going over🫢😉 It was hard work actually and think it may be time to ' get a man into do it' next time.
Its been very blowy and cold today but we got into town and back home again pretty sharpishly. It was very quiet but people were coughing and spluttering all over the place. Good job we still wear our masks.
I'm going to sign out for tonight. OC on again which I'm really enjoying. Have a pleasant evening everyone.
LB, it's very nice that you spent time with your family and friends to celebrate life of your brother.
I wasn't around here last few days, but it was busy week. We had a few meetings in the school, then I was twice at cottage and few other things. Also I didn't felt quite well last two days, but now I'm ok.
Today I spent my last kuna (our currency) and it was quite weird feeling. Although I saved few coins in my collection. Outside is still grey and warm with rain almost every day.
Hope you are all well. Now is time for tea and book. I got for Christmas very nice edition of Silmarillion.
Thank you Hazel and Ante for your lovely comments.
The wind was blowing a hooley here too Hazel. It seems to have calmed down a little now.
Ante I was sorry to hear that you hadn't been feeling too well earlier this week. It must have felt a little strange knowing you will be going to the euro from your familiar kuna. I kept some old French currency when they changed over to the euro.
I'm joining Hazel in watching OC and then I'll be watching Uni Chall. Night night all. See you tomorrow.

@Biglad - got Marti with a vengeance here. The Crescent outside is running with water.
I am planning on visiting my friend Joan, from the Canasta group. I had to cancel a visit before Christmas when I had that cold. Looking foward to a catch up there.
Whatever you are doing today (and please don't tell me it's the dreaded HW!) I hope you have a lovely time thinking about the year just gone and looking forward to a new year filled with hope. Extra fingers crossed for Busy's OH and the comfort or recovery of all the poorly relatives of our friends.

Good morning all. Off to work in a bit and then tonight I will go to my sisters for a takeaway and hope fiancé can get home for midnight.
I just want to say Happy New Year to all of you. You are a lovely lot of positive and friendly people and I enjoy reading all about your adventures. I hope we can all have a peaceful 2023 in our gardens. Hoping for a warm Spring, a sunny 🌞 summer with enough rain 🌧 to make the flowers grow but only on the days we want it to rain and a fruitful 🍂 autumn.
Hope you all stay healthy and get to spend time with the people you love.
Enough money to pay the bills and a bit over to spend on plants 🪴 Happy New Year!
Good morning Debs. I hope that you have a lot of pleasant customers today and that your fiancé does make it for the witching hour. It is so damp here that I'm wondering if I will hear many fireworks tonight.
