We are fed up. The hospital rang and said OH's pre op assessment (3rd one so far) on the 6th January has been cancelled as his hip replacement in January is postponed yet again. No elective ops being done in January because of flu and Covid and short staffed. 6th postponement so far. We had booked the ferry for 3rd January to go back to the UK for it.

    Afternoon all,

Flippin 'eck @Busy-Lizzie - the saga goes on. I can't imagine how frustrating the constant delays must be. Here's hoping for lucky 7!

Marti has really indulged himself here. I'll need to get the patio done if only as a solid base to build an ark on @Ladybird4 :D

The area that would've become an approx 8ft x 4ft 'pond' during previous deluges is now sodden with a couple of puddles. Hat's off to the drainage guy - I couldn't expect any better after the amount it has bucketed down recently.

Got a reminder for my car insurance renewal this morning - ran out on 12th Dec, letter dated 1st Dec. I'm struggling to understand the Royal Mail giving last dates to get post in time for Christmas, when all the post I'm receiving now was posted weeks and weeks ago :o I'm going to check if any of the cards I posted have arrived yet.

  • I hope you’ve all had a good day.  I took myself to bed this morning and slept until 1pm.  I had a luxury mince pie, prefer the pastry to the mince, that’s probably going to be my last one.  I just turned the tv on and Mitzi Gaynor and Rosanno had broken out in song and then the credits :).

Good afternoon all. Oh good grief Busy. I was so sorry to hear about yet another cancellation. You and your OH must be at your wits end now. Does this mean you may think about staying longer in France?
@Biglad, you sound to have had similar weather to me then. As for the post, I received 15 cards today through my letter box. It does sound as though your post office workers are going extremely slowly - look what happened to your SM coupons. PITA!
Rosie after my shopping - that feels like a month ago now - I have had a quiet day. I might have a mince pie later!

OH only has 3 weeks left of Brexit allowance. We'll go back on the 3rd anyway. We were going to visit OH's daughter and a couple of friends so we'll still do that.

I've been weeding and mulching this afternoon.

Evening all. Forgot to post what I wrote this morning🙄

SM dash this morning for milk & veg then stripped the chicken and have made chicken leek & mushroom pies for the freezer and a big pot of stock for chicken & sweetcoen soup. The rest of the meat will go in a curry. Friend came over for a cuppa & now I'm chillin' while OH makes us a prawn stir fry.

BL - no words re your OH's op but I do know we have a lot (well above average) of Covid cases in this area. Plus I think WSH may be affected by the next round of nurses strikes (if they go ahead). I do hope they can sort things out. I have another friend with a hip op booked for the 13th. I'll have to see if that's going ahead...

I am very jealous of the weather that allowed you out to weed and mulch Busy. I bet you vented some of your 'non op yet again!' anger too.
T'Bird, there must have been some nice smells coming from your kitchen today. My friend from Canasta, Joan, has her knee op. booked for 13th but of February, unlike your friend. She has been waiting some time for this op. and is very aware of what could happen.

Oh Busy I am so sorry to read your news . You must both be really fed up about it . My brother inlaws operation was cancelled five times several years ago .Twice he was actually in hospital .
    It is so upsetting.

Evening everyone. Raining most of today here but completed plenty of indoor jobs.
Busy, I can't believe your OH's operation has been cancelled again. I can understand why given the current situation, but because he has been waiting for many years now, surely that must count when rearranging a new date or be more than a urgent need for it? I feel sorry for your OH and you too.
Ive found with the new BG on line account, that we can't get a monthly update of our credit/deficit now, which is very frustrating. I was having a chat with an agent on line, and suddenly, I was  timed out and lost the connection, Pathetic. Everything is going to pot.
LB, I watched arc last night and was shocked by VCM face.Did you watch it?  Did she explain what had happened, at the beginning of the show, as I missed that? On tonight's show, she was back to normal.
Tired now so will say  goodnight to you all. Rosie, I hope you sleep better tonight. ( we've had our last mince pies too...I really like them👍).
