Good morning everyone. It's decidedly chillier today, it looks like we've had our day or two of ' tropical' weather and now we're getting back to normal temperatures. It was cold indoors first thing too. Slept like a log last night, must have been all that lego building I did yesterday with 23. He has a proper lego table too...lOH is quite jealous🙂 Apparently there were 2 naughty elves up to mischief on Christmas Eve at 23's house this year.😂
Afternoon all. I had a rather long sleep in and feel better for the rest. Bubble and squeak for tea to use the leftovers. Had a lovely Christmas dinner and relaxed and later listened to music. LB glad you had a lovely time with handy brother. Enjoy the rest of Boxing Day.
Rosie, you made me smile when you mentioned bubble and squeak. My sons partner said exactly the same yesterday that she would use up the leftovers making it. The two girls asked what it was and made some wonderful ( not) faces when all was explained🤭 We have had a lovely quiet day, just pottering about and finding homes for some of the our presents. Very relaxing.
It was a noisy, lively day yesterday. Opened stockings and presents in the morning, had huge prawns to start then roast beef, Yorkshire pud etc for lunch, went for a walk then I felt so tired I went to bed for a sleep. I never normally sleep in the afternoon. Had the chocolate mousse lunch dessert in the evening after pumpkin soup, spag bol (I didn't have any, too full). I did have the choc mousse though. Then had a bit of a bad tum in the night. Too much chocolate? Christmas eve oysters? Son 1 had made a lovely looking fish terrine and Daughter 1 had made a big pork pie for lunch, but I wasn't up to much, I didn't have the smoked salmon either.
Son 2, DIL and Daughter 2 and 8 more grandchildren should arrive this afternoon. We'll have to eat in relays or children in the kitchen diner and grownups in the sitting dining room.
Oh - Son 2 has arrived!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Rosie, I love the sound of your bubble and squeak. Having a picnic is a bit boring as there are no left overs to have the next day.
Hazel, I have had a nice quiet day today. Lots of hail battering the windows between rain so definitely a day to be inside. Glad 23 liked his chicken.
Busy, what a crazy, fun filled time you are having. It must be lovely to have all of those excited small people around. You will be coming home for a rest!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Rosie and Hazel, I needed to search what is bubble and squeak. After searching a bit I roughly knew what it is, and also google showed me connected meals, like faggots (already knew about it), and completely new, spotted dick, toad in the hole, and few others.
I had really nice day. After lunch we went to the cottage and had nice and long walk. Fog didn't bother us at all. Then I went to my neighbor on cake and "coffee". It's the season to be merry after all. Now is time for tea and reading my new book.
Goodnight LB. Ante, your walk sounds lovely despite the weather. Hope you enjoyed your ' coffee' with your neighbour!😉 Busy, goodness me, what a houseful but I bet there was plenty of laughter and cheer from little ones as well as the adults. Im signing out for now folks. Have a good evening. Night night.
Evening all. Been a bright and sunny day here. Should have gone for a walk really but I don't particularly enjoy walking and my ankle has been playing up since our day walking round London on Wednesday for OH's birthday. Better to rest it and sit on the sofa in front of the fire with a medicinal G&T I thought😉
Love that there are plenty of quizzes on TV this week.
Hope your tum has settled BL
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

I don't mind the fog, it's more interesting walk thru woods. Two days ago it was so thick fog that you couldn't see finger in front of the nose.
