Glad to hear about enjoyable days and pleasing food from you all.
Thinking of those who may not have had the Christmas they wanted for various reasons.
We had a quiet day but plenty of food. Video called Dad and Sister for present opening which was a germ free way to see each other. Just home from work - it was busy but we managed to make time for a canteen “full English” this morning. Really looking forward to a ‘leftovers’ supper - bubble and squeak, cold meats, bread sauce and pickles.
Glad to hear that you have all had a good time over the last two days. We are sitting here at 11pm, house all spick and span, fridge full with food waiting to be prepared tomorrow, plus some things already cooked and set aside, while we wait for g/son and fiancee to arrive. They are on the M25 right now, then have the M4 to tackle then the hour and a half from the seven bridge to reach us in Wales. Not much sleep for us tonight!! G/daughter and her OH will set off early in the morning and get to us 'when they can', dont think the weather looks too good for their long run across from Sussex. But as long as they all arrive safely and then get home again without incident I shall be happy. Daughter zoomed over to collect youngest g/son from ex's farm a couple of hours ago and he is now lazing on her bed watching a dvd I gave him for Christmas and stuffing his face with festive food (typical teen!) surrounded by the 3 dogs waiting for the crumbs to drop! Elderly cat (nearly 19) has taken up residence in my bathroom on the bathmat which is lying on a hot pipe, sensible girl lol! Daughter is now doing something with a wobbly jelly and talking about possibly doing the cheesecake afterwards. And me? I'm just noodling on here, making tea/coffee as needed and keeping up to date on the washing up. My New Year's resolution -- to stop writing such long epistles on here! Cheers to you all x
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ just the two of us here now … and OH is back to work again today … for some reason I’ve woken early so am doing my best not to wake him as he doesn’t have to get up quite yet …
It sounds as if you’ve got a lovely time ahead of you @AnnaB … enjoy 😊 Don’t shorten the epistles … I like them 👍
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
A very quiet Boxing Day playing scrabble and chatting. All the Christmas food is now finished, fridge is still quite full so will get something together later. Today we three are going to the library and then I will sneakily go buy some underwear for my gorgeous offspring and surreptitiously put them in his case. The stuff I washed the other day had chunks missing. He wants to save the planet you see ...
