I hope you’ve all had a good Boxing Day. We had a heavy storm pass through and the rainwater tanks overflowed. Good for us since there is no town water supply in the village and we depend on rain water. 👏👏
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ I hope everyone had a marvellous day yesterday … we certainly did … very relaxed and laid back … lovely presents … perfume, books, paint, delicious things, and gardening vouchers … what more could anyone possibly need? 😎
The beef was marvellous, pink and succulent and very tasty … and, when we eventually found room for either the apple crumble and icecream or the tiramisu, they were pronounced absolutely perfect.
A lovely chat with the @WonkyWomble household rounded off the day … they’re gearing up for another day of hosting … while we and our guests have a lazy day planned … think they may both be heading to their respective homes after lunch … but no firm decisions have been taken yet … more coffee is needed … ☕️

Good morning all, enjoyed yesterday very much and the day passed by too quickly. Church then visiting family first thing, then home to prepare dinner (much of the preparations were done the day before, so just a case of putting things in the oven to heat up), followed by a lazy time in front of the tv. I think a walk is called for today. 😊 Hope everyone has a good Boxing Day.
Glad to hear everyone has had a nice Christmas. We did too, nice presents, nice food, we went to a restaurant yesterday with 10 friends, really, really lovely and the staff worked very hard to make it special for us. Spent late afternoon playing board games and finished off with a good film, Knives Out with Daniel Craig. Today we have started with a big English breakfast, and then a full traditional English dinner planned for late afternoon.
Trying very hard to enjoy what we can, it's all a bit strained with Charlie's dad and the worry of getting the paperwork through for the new house, we're all in a sort of 'pretend everything's ok' bubble.
Charlie and I had planned to go on a mini ski trip for a couple of days, but all the snow has melted so we've had to cancel. A bit disappointing.
Anyway, we'll see what the New Year brings. Hard to feel sorry for oneself when so much misery for so many others in the world.
Wishing the best for you all.

Hello all, it's good to see everyone had a merry Christmas, ours was uneventful until the afternoon when an ambulance came to one of our neighbours and also the air ambulance. He lives on his own and we all look out for him. He was due to go to another neighbour for lunch and didn't turn up so she went to investigate and found out he was very unwell. He had heart valve surgery about three years ago but it seems to have failed so off he went to the heart hospital at Toulouse for a repair. I am now going to do more sanding of banisters and stair parts.
Had a lovely peaceful Christmas Day, despite the lack of visitors, plenty of FaceTime and phone calls instead. Daughter and SIL managed to get plenty of yummy festive food, last minute from M and S, and had a cheerful day at home. They have managed to reserve a hire car for later in the week, and will then stay with us until after New Year. Son and family have deferred their visit for a couple of days, so we will have a belated get together with the kids and grandsons. Very positive outcome, ( although not completely for daughter, as RAC reckon car is likely to be uneconomical to repair, so they’ll be looking for a replacement) My obsession with long use by dates appears to have paid off, I don’t think I’m going to have much, if any, wastage. I may have bought too many sprouts, but they are my favourite winter vegetable, and generally survive well in the fridge for ages. Just thought that they can go in bubble and squeak, another favourite of mine! Excellent! Hope all have managed to enjoy the holiday.

@Pat E we haven't had Boxing Day yet, just starting. Is yours over?
We had a good Christmas, but I think I've eaten too much! Really needed the walk we went on yesterday afternoon. Had a sleep after it.

Sounds perfectly normal to us 😉

Gorgeous sons gave us a digital trail camera! Now the fun starts with installing it.
Happy boxing day to all.
