We are cold today. The wood heater has been stoked with wood. 😳

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Good job you got that firewood in @Pat E 😊 keep warm.
Hope all goes well @coccinella … have a lovely lunch. 😊
Its a bright start to the day here in Norfolk … I was thinking about putting a load of towels in the wash … then I checked the weather app … rain starting mid morning and carrying on for the rest of the day … the towels can wait.

  • Morning everyone,  wet again here, very bad night last night.  I was woken up around 3am with rain hammering on the bedroom window,  and only slept fitfully after that. I think the lack of activity enforced by the leg injury,  compounded now by the wet weather, I'm not properly tired. Hopefully a dry day soon so I can get outside again.

Sorry to hear that @Allotment Boy … I hate it when I can’t sleep properly. I’m very lucky … it doesn’t happen often 🤞 when it does I listen to a podcast. I find there are some voices that send me straight to sleep no matter how interesting the subject … 😉

  • Thanks Dove, I normally sleep very well too. That's why I get so grumpy when I don't- sorry. 🥱

  • No need to apologise @Allotment Boy … this is the perfect place to share a grumpy moment or three … gets it off our chests and saves p’eeing off/worrying our nearest and dearest any more than absolutely necessary. 😉

You’re right Dove. Usually our firewood has been moved to another spot by this time of the year. Never mind, at least we can keep warm for a bit longer.

    Morning all.

The bare root roses that I ordered from Meilland should be coming this morning.

It has tipped with rain but the sun is coming out. Hope I can plant the roses this afternoon. The ground is prepared.

    Morning everyone!

Cool start to the day but now there is brilliant sunshine and NO wind!!  It's 20°C outside, but as the sun moves around, that will drop.  The conservatory doors are open to the lounge to do their work.  There was worried conversation at the produce markets this morning from the market gardeners due to this mild autumn weather.

Glad you are sharing this beautiful sunshine @Busy-Lizzie as I imagine @floralies will be, also.  My roses are blooming - again.

    Bon appétit @coccinella.

I do hope that all with aches and twinges don't feel too bad in spite of the weather.  Although it is sunny here, the breeze is coming off the sea and dampy so am feeling it in my hip today - the other one!

    Have a pleasant day.

I saw Mars the other evening too!
I feel your pain @Allotment Boy - I too had a sleepless night.  Got up to make myself a chamomile tea at 4am.  And like you it is due to lack of physical activity, another day of crouching over the laptop. One of these days I'll get myself out into the garden, probably not until after Christmas now - so many activities going on before then that I am involved with.
But I will be going into town in a bit, when OH returns from his blood test so we can do a bit of food shopping.  And I have raffle prizes to pick up and leaflets to deliver...
