Hello forkers, torrential rain here from early morning - got drowned going into town for a haircut but luckily got back home before the big cloudburst hit us. Took OH's watch back as it had stopped working again, after I'd bought a new battery for it last month. Chappie put a new battery in it, said that's ok now, looked at it again and oh no, it isn't. Upshot is that it needs a new movement abt £62 so not worth getting it repaired. I've already spent £40 on two new batteries in under 14 months!
That looks really painful @Allotment Boy, hopefully the arnica will help.
Happy Birthday @Chicky, that is a beautiful footstool your husband's made you. Hope he's recovering well after his op.
Oh dear, that looks really uncomfortable, Allotment Boy. Looks like you will be taking it easy for a while. Steephill, I also get the MyWaitrose vouchers. It does say on the FAQs that if they don’t have stock of the voucher item, you can use it towards an alternative from the same category. Only a couple of times have they not had the item I wanted. The first time, I had bought something similar, and got the money off. ( I think the voucher was for washing liquid and I was buying fabric conditioner) The second time I tried to scan the voucher for something I hadn’t bought, ( by mistake, I don’t have a smart phone, so I have to screen shot my vouchers on my iPad, and I’d taken two pictures) the discrepancy was flagged up on the screen and refused. When I use the vouchers on a home delivery, they are always honoured, even if the item is out of stock, but I only apply them if I’ve ordered the voucher item.
I'm late here tonight, been out all day, collected OH's car and bought our Chrissie pressies for each other, then had to make a cake for the craft fair tomorrow, then OH had the laptop.
So I've nearly missed @chicky's birthday. I hope you've had a lovely day. What a great present, well done Mr Chicky!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good Morning. I slept really badly, but a sudden noise cheered me up around midnight: I heard cranes! I don't know if they are the first to pass, probably not, wonderful birds. Hopefully there will be some in daylight as well, I love their formations. So today aside from keeping an ear out for cranes I will go and do some food shopping and get ready to go to see my son in Amsterdam next tuesday. He will be 30 this week.

Glad you're feeling better @Ergates.
Looking forward to seeing my son tomorrow, he's coming up to watch Bath rugby. Mum will probably be on chauffeur duties!
