^that's an impressive Hosta Peter.. I could probably tolerate that, providing it didn't get full of holes..
@Nollie I meant to say about 'Marie Ducher'.. I hope you get it so we can compare, as there is some doubt to its authenticity.. isn't there always?.. I have found with Roseraie Ducher their i'd's are suspect,.. I've had 2 from them that I'm sure were something else.. I really wanted 'Marie van Houtte' as looking at their photo it appears to be correct.. the one I got from Trevor White turned out to be climbing Mrs Herbert Stevens..
@Marlorena, yes I agree - they say Marie Ducher was lost in France and imported back from New Zealand, so who knows what it is really. Some alleged MDs look more like Mrs. B.R. Cant, also on my long list, along with Sophie’s Perpetual, Mlle. De Sombreuil, Marie d’Orleans and so many more. I would also love to grow and compare Julius Fabianics de Misefa and Mme. Eugene Marlitt as well, both potential candidates for the US found rose ‘Maggie’. Too many possibilities and too little space!
I knew I had read about the fragrance of Sophie’s Perpetual ages ago, incidentally and couldn’t think where. I finally found it, a description from someone who grows several in pots and rates it very highly, so I am looking forward to your report..
” Very strong, pleasant perfume. Old rose, raspberry and musk I would say. Not sticky-sweet old rose”
This hybrid china also caught my eye recently and I’m very tempted..

Thanks for your comments on watering folks. I did water my five potted roses today, then realized I should have checked for dampness first - oh well, I don't suppose it will do the roses any harm. However, I must say it looks suspiciously like it might rain soon here, hope I'm right, the garden sorely needs it.
@Nollie, somehow I've managed it, thanks! My set up for the Mark Up is in a completely different place on the ipad than yours, and things looks slightly different, but I've fiddled about and managed to find the text and insert the word ' daffodil'! I'm chuffed to bits. Going to " play" now👍😊
The old Deep Secret was a dog of a rose for me, WAMS, maybe this is an improved version? At least when DA relaunched a an improvement, like William Shakespeare, they called it William Shakespeare 2000 so you could tell the difference between the old disease-ridden one and the new.
@Songbird-2, ok not sure what you did there, but each iPad version is different. On mine, this is the symbol, I’ve circled it in blue, that you need to click on, which brings up the drawing menu shown here on the left, then click on the + symbol and then select Text...a text box that you can edit should then appear on your photo. Remember to click ‘Done’ - top right - when you have finished to save it, otherwise it reverts back to your original photo..

@Marlorena yes, very pleased, good value. i reordered this year as last years were nice. Some obviously dont look much e.g gaura as dormant but have new shoots and huge roots out of the bottom, so not scruffy newly potted things.
See attached @Nollie, I have a bit of a tussle bringing up the keyboard or changing colour, quite temperamental the touch screen. But hope you can see the picture now. Sorry to have intruded upon the thread🤭

I do wish Tantau wouldn't recycle names.
It's not easy keeping them all straight as it is!
