It's sunny here but with a nippy breeze. We are off to Sainsbugs to get OH a new jumper. He won't wear his best jumpers around the house so they sit in a drawer.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good afternoon everyone. I've had a super day - so far . The motorway was quite quiet and we had a good run down to Crewe - busier coming back. Lots of gossip and tea. Friend in Crewe is getting a gardener to help her with her garden as at the moment she is finding it difficult to keep on top of things plus - after 11 months - she still hasn't got her new bungalow sorted out. She showed us what she had bought at the Southport Flower show after she ahd left Bestie and us. A very pretty squirrel tail grass. She was surprised when I told her I hadn't bought any plants!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Ante, I hope that you find time to have a little celebration of your birthday tonight and that today has been kind to you.
SGL, I don't even need to ask if you have had a lovely day because you have been spending time with your favourite small people. Thanks to you Ruby and Hazel for your good wishes for today -Β they worked!
Biglad, I peeked into my shed yesterday. Promptly retreated - another day thinks I!
I always do my meter readings on the first of the month but thanks for the heads up!
Busy, are your OH's NEW jumpers not moved into pole position in the wardrobe?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Well we woke to much cooler temps and light rain which developed with rumblings of thunder. But we cycled into town (10kms each way according to my gadget) alongside the river. Didn't get wet above a couple of spots and life was all much more comfortable for being 10 degrees cooler.
Had a good mooch round and bought a couple of seasonal decs at a lovely seasonal shop It had decs priced from β¬1.95 to β¬3000 - some of them are beautiful, intricate works of art. Mine were much nearer the bottom end!
Then we went to a brewery for a beer and then on for a very nice pizza before cycling home. We were both surprised at the number of tourists in town. There were large groups of Americans 'on tour'. I suspect the attraction for them is that it's where a lot of US forces were based after the war so a lot of retracing 'dad's travels'.
I'll try to put up a couple of pics from my phone in a moment.
Meanwhile - a very happy birthday to Ante - hope you've managed to find some time out of your busy day to celebrate and have some funππππ
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hey its great to hear from you T'Bird. I'll flip your pics for you. They are lovely. I particularly like those wonderful cobbles in the third picture. The sky there looks a little like mine did first thing this morning but it got out nice and sunny with just white fluffy clouds over head.

Clear and sunny here again.Β
I did open the shed the other day @Ladybird4 but only to get out the mower! Maybe I'll have another peak later
Garden waste bin has just been collected but only half full.
Reminder to those that take end-of-month meter readings, today's the day!
Thank you all for kind wishes.Β
Have a nice day and see you later afternoon.
Happy birthday Ante
