    Morning all,

Been away for a couple days visiting family in Wales - an excellent weekend catching up. The weather was kind so a nice, long walk to the beach on Saturday afternoon.

I've checked what's been going on whilst I've been away and come back inside with a fresh batch of cut sweet peas to distribute around the house and a nice little blueberry haul :)ย

Good morning all. Beautiful ย misty morning here after a good long shower of rain last night. Very autumnal. I find this a sad time of year, another summer gone but the weather can be lovely and what is prettier than trees changing colour against a clear pale blue sky?ย
Hope you have fun in Coniston LB. Always good to remember friends and happy times.ย
  • Morning everyone,ย
We have a misty morning too @debs64 And boy did it rain last night. Absolutely hammered down for hours with a thunder storm directly above. So glad I cut the grass yesterday, its absolutely soaked this morning.ย
I'm missing the warm sunny days already, hope we get some more during September, but the changing colours of the trees and shrubs are very special and beautiful too.ย
Have a nice day catching up with your friends OH. Hope you have some yummy ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ @Ladybird4
@Biglad you're lucky still getting Sweet peas, mine finished a few weeks ago. Lovely blueberries too.

    Morning all.

I don't really think of September as autumn. In France it is often still warm. The leaf colours don't really happen until October. This year some leaves have gone brown because of the drought.

Planning a quiet day, knee aches after the walking yesterday, but we may go to Tesco. Last week's shop was small and we are running out of things.

Good morning Biglad, Debs, SGL and Busy. I had better just clear up one misunderstanding. Much as it would be lovely, I am not going to Coniston today but my friend's house near Preston.
Biglad, your blueberries look lush and I'm glad the weather was kind to you in Wales. Like SGL, my sweetpeas were a disaster this year. It was almost not worth the effort.
We had rain here in the night - everywhere was dripping wet this morning but the sun is breaking through now.
'fess up Busy! I bet you were tractor tugging yesterday! Seriously, after your shopping session, take it easy for a while.
p.s. Morning Ruby, I didn't mean to miss you out!

Sorry @Ladybird4 wrong end of stick! Blame it on my fog brain. Just been into garden to harvest elderberries before the pigeons gobble them all up and itโ€™s lovely to see all the wet earth and happy plants. I so need a day in the garden soon.ย
@Busy-Lizzie for me itโ€™s the children going back to school. They walk past my house every day so it really brings it home.ย

LB - the only tractor tugging I did was pushing OH's buggy out of a rut!

Morning all. Rained here again overnight but sun is cracking the whip now, may have to pull the canopy down as it's really bright at the back of the house. OH got the lawn in the back cut yesterday and Imdid some more lawn patching. Today is indoor jobs and the pottering.
@Ladybird4 ,LB, have a nice time with your friend, it's always nice to have a catch up.
Hope @Topbird ย is enjoying her holiday and @Chivetalking is going on okay. Schools start back today here, staggered days depending on age and where attending.
Hope Rosie is okay too, have read back a little and she doesn't seem to be posting much. Or perhaps I've missed something?ย
@star gaze lily , glad you've managed to get the new gazebo taken down, much better than putting it up. Hope the family, OH and Poppets are okay?
Our ย new Nelly Moser ย clematis( the one we planted to replace the clematis which was destroyed in Storm Arwen) has today produced its first flower. It's so lovely to see. I reckon your clematis @Rubee must have been a glorious site over over summer. How is your OH coping these days?
    Have a good day everyone.

I thought that my sweet peas were coming to an end and have started to collect seeds, but a couple of plants have obviously decided on one final hurrah! These aren't visible from the house and are a bit of a tangled mess due to wind but, apparently, if I put a few of these pots around the house, the brownie points count rises considerably ;)ย
