Good morning SGL, Debs and Ante.
SGL, it is almost as though Autumn has sneaked up on us. I know that September 1st is the metereological start of Autumn but like you and Busy I still like to think of it as Summer.
@debs64, I think that the time has come for your Fiancé to put his foot down and say a polite 'Sorry, holiday booked - can't do it.' I am guessing here but there seems to be a lack of reasonable communication. Again - just guessing - but the company MUST have known about the timetable of weddings for this year and should have passed this on to your Fiancé so that he was able to fit in any holidays around the weddings. He can point out that he is exhausted and needs this holiday to rest and recuperate and if he doesn't get this break there is a distinct possibility that his health and wellbeing may suffer and he may need to take a longer break away from the job.
Ante, good idea to get more electric wire to keep the deer away from your precious crops. I'm glad its cooler - with a chance of rain soon.

    Morning all.

@debs64 I think your fiance should be firm and tell them that his holiday is booked and he won't be available for that wedding. Surely they can change their week as they are going to their own villa. It would be stupid of them to fire him as it would be hard for them to find someone else and he could demand compensation. LB has a good point about his health.

To be fair this wedding was on a revised list and I stupidly neglected to put it on the calendar so basically this is all my fault and I completely understand them being annoyed I feel awful about it but they have other employees who could step in easily although they know they can trust my fiancé to go the extra mile and sort out any problems  I think they should change their flights, they can’t really expect him to basically run their business so they can go on holiday every month. I know I have messed up but I am only human.
Sorry, I understand it’s just a holiday and other people have real problems to deal with.
  • Morning @Busy-Lizzie
@debs64 do hope things can be sorted and you can go on your holiday.
@Ladybird4 definitely starting to feel like autumn. I thought autumn started the end of September, somewhere around the 24th 🤷‍♀️
We have beautiful sunshine at the moment, hope it stays all day.

    Good morning Busy.
@debs64 is there any mileage in your Fiancé getting in touch with one of the other employees and negotiating an exchange of fixtures to enable you to go away on your holiday?

SGL, we still talk about Indian Summers when we have a lovely late spell and its usually round about October time.

Morning all. Well, after the last few days and nights of heavy rain, the sun has come out again. Hope it stays like this for tomorrow, I don't want them " doing a CD" in the garden😂 ( Ch**li* Dim***k)
Debs, a conundrum for you and partner but some good ideas to try already given by other Rezzers. Good luck.
Rubee, my sympathies for you and OH, your OH is having a rotten time of it.
Ante, at last some cooler weather and rain, phew!
    Have a nice day everyone.

    Afternoon all,

A good overnight soaking here and the butt is full to the brim!

After my annoyance at the coverage of pretty much nothing yesterday (in this day and age do BBC1 and ITV really need to be the channels used for political automobile cavalcade watch anyway?), I've just heard the that the new PM has announced immediate action tomorrow (on the rising energy costs). The process of choosing a new leader obviously didn't go on quite long enough :o There will be folk falling into poverty (or believing they're about to) every day and making potentially life-changing decisions. Sunak and Truss could have outlined their exact policies weeks ago so that these decisions could've been made based on accurate information.

I'm not particularly impressed with the incoming and outgoing PMs taking separate private jets to and from Scotland for no good reason either. Wonder if any environmental/green policies will be announced tomorrow as well :D

OH has had the Laptop all morning so I did gardening instead. The Solanum is now a shadow of its over vigorous former self and now there is a load of bare earth around the bottom of it. There are some spring flowering plants like Dicentra, bluebells and Lily of the valley, but they are asleep. I feel a trip to a GC coming on, planning on planting bedding cyclamen to brighten it up.
