Good morning all. A damp, misty, very autumnal start to the day. Landscaper is here (arrived at 7.45 ๐ซฃ๐ฌ.....) to put in some replacement fence posts after the breakages in the gales earlier this year.
As ever, I now have many hours to fill in the day, lots of jobs to get on with but I won't be able to concentrate on doing anything beyond the simplest of tasks. Never can when I waiting for an appointment or have people working in the house.
One thing I can do is to pick some quinces this morning & get those boiling ready to make jelly. I have 3 other villagers coming to pick their own over the next couple of days so hopefully there won't be too much fruit going to waste this year.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
It has rained in the night and it looks a bit grey out there. I hope it brightens up. Now that my back is better I want to move some hellebores to a shady spot to make room in the long border for brighter plants. They are very dull hellebores. I put my gardening shoes on yesterday afternoon, went outside and it started to rain, so I watched Strictly Come Dancing instead.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
