The flying was fun this morning and it was perfect weather.

Have spent the afternoon packing the campervan as we're heading off to the Gloucester / Tewkesbury area for 3 nights. OH is doing some flying training and I am providing the B & B - but will also be having fun exploring Hereford (going to see the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library) and Gloucester.Β

A very good morning all. T'Bird, I am glad to hear that the flying experience went so well and you have an interesting mini break coming up. Hereford is a lovely place to visit - the last time I was there was rather sad though as I went to my Aunt's funeral and didn't have any time to look around but I put it on my 'to do' list to re-visit.
Had a long visit with Jack and his daughter yesterday and Lily's all sorted now. I still feel a bit of a heel as I know she will miss me. She tries to spend as much time as possible sitting on my knee which, as I have mentioned before can get a bit awkward as I then have to dislodge her when I move and she hates that.

    Morning all,

Managed a round of golf in glorious sunshine yesterday. I think that sentence will go into hibernation pretty soon (along with my clubs)!

Got dragged into a quiz by eldest on Friday night. We finished a respectable 4th out of 22 teams but won two raffle prizes so didn't come away empty-handed. Think I justified my selection by knowing what loganberries are crossed from ;)Β

Today will be mostly based around watching football interspersed with pottering. Marvellous!

Good morning everyone. Lovely pic LB. Are you packed and ready for your holiday?
Big Lad you would be pleased to get out in the fresh air and sunshine and have a round of golf. I hope it’s not your last this year.

Morning all. Another chilly but sunny, clear autumn day. The moon was shining very brightly in a cloudless sky when I made a night time visit at 5am - thought next doir's security light was on it was so bright.

LB - you'll be getting very excited now. Is it 3 years since you were last in France?. I do hope you have some lovely warm weather.

Weighing up whether or not to stop at Hidcote on the way down - decisions decisions. Must keep moving - I have a long drive ahead of me.

Good morning all. Clear sunny day here so hoping for an hour in the garden then got two daughters here for lunch. Roast beef but it’s from a wedding so just needs heating through. FiancΓ© is away in Bristol again until Wednesday so hoping to get on with sorting and tidying while he isn’t around to distract me.Β

    Hello all.

Hidcote is worth stopping for @Topbird. I wonder if you did.

We enjoyed the Harvest Supper last night. Loads of food, delicious quiches and salads, Pavlova for pud. I went for a good walk yesterday, gave me an appetite. We took extra wine to share but so did everyone else! Think I had more than usual.

Blue sky outside but a bit chilly. Shame the game the garden visiting season is just about over. I hope my back is OK to do a bit of gardening this afternoon.

No I didn't stop at Hidcote BL - but I have been a couple of times before. Lovely garden. Not been to Kiftsgate which is just across the road but I fancy that more in the summer.Β

Came straight down to the campsite so I could get checked in, have a cup of tea etc and then walked less than 5 minutes to Tewkesbury Abbey. Such an interesting church - really enjoyed mooching round even though I've been before. One of my favourite Anglo Saxon churches (Deerhurst) is just down the road so I shall go there probably on Tuesday. I can wander and sit and gaze at the amazing carvings without being aware of OH surreptitiously glancing at his watch....
