Good morning everyone . Lovely dahlia Ante . I haven’t been successful in growing dahlias.
Hazel I am pleased that you and your OH are feeling better after your jab . I had mine yesterday .So far very little reaction. Injection site is a tiny bit sensitive .I have been looking for gifts for the festive season . The prices have certainly gone up.I haven’t a clue what to buy OH .If I can find a book on ancient Egypt or ancient Suma ,that he hasn’t read I would get him one of those .
I have asked Rosie for a list then I can choose what to buy .

Good morning Ruby and all arriving later. I thought I would be clever and go to 'sco just after 06:00 as I had to get a birthday card for Bestie's granddaughter who is going to be 5 (I cannot believe it) and get it into the post box in the store and the prime reason was I wanted to return some things. I was thwarted to discover that their customer services only opens at 08:00. Did a little bit of shopping and am now enjoying my cereals and tea.

Ante, your dahlia is absolutely stunning. I am going to look for that one next year.
Hazel, I bet your Mum is looking forward to your visit too. Yes, I'm counting down the days now.

Morning all. It's cold today but the sun is shining. we're popping to SM too, LB, this morning but definitely not in the middle,of the night, like you🫣 I was still in bed at that time!
Rubee,  glad you're ok , so far, after injection. zit was the day accepted ours, when we started to feel really tired and couldn't be bothered to do anything, so, fingers crossed for you today that you will be ok.
Hope all absent Rezzers are alright.

    Morning all.

    Gorgeous dahlia @Ante1.

I took OH out for dinner last night in a local pub. Ordinary pub grub but the pub interior and the staff are nice.

Today I'm hoping to do some re-seeding of the middle lawn if my back is OK. It's very patchy, some grass has grown back and some hasn't.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Morning all.

Good to hear that the meds are starting to kick in Rubee🙂 My booster jab is at the end of this month and I'm having the flu one at the same time. Hoping they can do them both in the same arm so I have one really sore arm rather than two. Learned that lesson with a sleepless night last year.

BL - there are still some bare patches in my grass but they are getting smaller. How long is grass seed viable? I have some ancient seed in the shed so I might try a bit of re-seeding with that. Nothing to lose except half an hour of time.

LB - did you say 'Oh dearie me' (or similar?😉🤭) when you saw the desk was closed? That was a tad irritating when you'd made the effort to get in early.

I'm blaming @debs64 for the following. Have been craving cheese scones / savoury cream tea ever since she mentioned making tomato jam. Today I've given in and made some. Can't wait for lunch😋

Topbird, your scones look yummy, enjoy, don't eat 'em all!
Done the SM run this morning, really quiet so we weren't long. It's very windy and blustery here but quite warm. OH is going to start a pre-trip car inspection, water, oil, tyres etc. Have got the cold box in from garage as we have to take over some perishable foods and put the cold blocks into freezer to freeze up. Why does going away for a few days involve so much thinking about and preparation?

IME Hazel it takes nearly as much work to go away for 3 days as it does to go away for 3 weeks 😕

Good afternoon all. Hazel, I do like going early to the SM - aisles and checkouts are nice and quiet. Bit awkward when I need to find a tall person to reach stuff down from high shelves though.
Busy, its our quiz team lunch tomorrow and our numbers will be decimated as one couple are off roamin' in the gloamin' and my Bestie is full of a cold. The couple in Scotland sent me some pictures the other day of Loch Ness and Clava Cairns. Their son had photoshopped a 'Nessie' into the picture of Loch Ness. I said I was finding it difficult to tell who was the monster as her OH was posed nonchalantly at the side of the Loch! Just be careful with your back Busy especially as you are going back to France with your OH on November 1st.
T'Bird your scones look absolutely scrummy. I am going to have to try that savoury combination myself. You were so right about the language on discovering the Services were shut this morning. In the alpha phonetic alphabet the expletive was Foxtrot Hotel!
I'm just trying to decide what I wish to go in my 20cm x 20cm clear plastic bag now. It needs elasticated sides for sure.

Topbird, totally agree. And then there's all the wa**i*g to do when you get back home as well unpacking everything again. Bit like a SM shop, put  in trolley, take, out, pack up, put in car, unpack car, unpack into cupboards etc. Gawd....
LB, know you like rising early and getting away to sm etc whilst it's quiet. One of our neighbours is like that, she regularly comes home at about 6.30am with a shop, according to OH. I've never seen her😬😂 You do right, actually, just I can't seem to get up that early unless off somewhere special. Think I have missed something regarding.....Ladybird4

    Hmmm. what's that about!?

When you fly Hazel and you are only taking cabin baggage you are only allowed to take liquids in containers up to 100ml and these have to be placed in the aforementioned plastic bag which you have to show when going through border control. Things like toiletries such as shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, deodorants, perfumes, baby food and baby milk (not that we will be taking either of the latter two).
