Morning all. Seriously hoping it wont be hotter today than yesterday, was struggling a bit by the time it cooled in the evening. We normally have a breeze up here but even that deserted us by lunchtime yesterday. Stay cool my friends.

Good morning all, another poor night's sleep ah well.
@WonkyWomble, one of the other volunteers ar Capel yesterday was using an "ice towel ". Not a normal towel some kind of synthetic fabric,  you soak it in water and wring out lightly.  It stays cool for up to 2 hours apparently.   The only way I  managed yesterday was to make sure I stayed in the shade.

Very hot tonight,  sleeping under just the duvet cover.
Haven't had anything more than just a sheet over us for over a month now.

Well, the plumber has been here for half an hour ... I was told to expect him late morning but he said he wanted to make an early start because of the heat if that was ok ....

oh 'eck ... plumber needs a consultation with me ...

Update ... the leak isn't quite where he thought it was ... now he's emptying out the crockery cupboard which is 'under the stairs' ... thank goodness OH is at work ... remember when he  spent for ever boarding out that cupboard about twelve months ago!!!???  Looks like the boarding will be coming down 😢  I'm not going to phone him and tell him ... there's nothing he can do and he'll just stress about it.

    Don't tell him.
He'll only fret and assume it's going to be much worse than it might end up being.

Lubricate him with a glass of his favourite beer when he returns home.
