Very hot tonight,  sleeping under just the duvet cover.

Just home from an evening at the beach - great sunset, amazing super moon shining over the water, fish and chips sat on the sand …… can’t ask for more than that 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

(I had spent the day garden volunteering, so think I deserved a treat 🥵)
  • Evening all,

Another busy day here, it's bizarre, nearly all the customers lately are Dutch, I'm sure there's no-one left in Holland. 😅

It's market night tonight in town, they have it in the park below us, we were fully booked from 6pm, totally full, a 3 were squeezed in at 10:30 for desserts. I feel a bit guilty, because the idea is that people sit and eat in the market place, but there's no shade there and our menu is better and our seats more comfortable. Seems people prefer to watch from.above than join in with the melee below.

Tomorrow is another soirée, English Fish and Chip supper, 49 booked, a bit scary as it's tricky managing the fryers. Can only get 6 fish in at a time in the biggest fryers, have 4 others for the chips. Very messy, very hot and always a risk of the electric blowing..... All good fun. 😅

Charlie has spent the day with his friend water skiing, he loves it, 4 hours on the lake skiing and then 2 hours swimming. He's exhausted, and a bit 'bronzed', but very happy. He was supposed to have lunch at the lakeside restaurant, but 'forgot' so came home starving. Only had a boule de glace all day. Silly sausage! 😱🙄

Was just about to post when a friend from another restaurant popped in to say hello, now 2 in the morning.... Must sleep.

Best wishes to all, especially thinking of @Hostafan1. Good night all.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
No chance of cooler weather until next week @Pat E … up in the 30s here until then.  But then there is just the hint of some rain in the forecast … even a storm or two is hinted at … we shall see … these things have a habit of disappearing from the forecast the closer we get to them …

And today we will have the plumbers in the downstairs cloakroom digging up the floor and repairing the leaking pipe … they are due here late morning. I’ll fill some water bottles and put them in the fridge and also have a couple of jugs full for the kettle. OH has screened off that part of the house with sheets of polythene taped to the ceiling and walls to stop dust getting into the rest of the house.

Oh!  I have just had my message flipped off!!!  Now, I am off with the dog before it gets hotter than it already is.

I'll have to come back to this later!

He is back from his second trip to Canberra, has been checked over by the Ophthalmologist and ticked all the boxes, and had an afternoon sleep. I need to put a drop in his eye four hourly. 🙄

    Good morning @Dovefromabove
Good morning all, good evening @Pat E
Another hot, dry day ahead here. Terrible nights sleep, although I was cool enough sleeping under an open window, my mattress has decided to give up supporting my back so now I'm looking into getting a new one asap.
All windows and blinds have been open all night and will be closed by 9am to try and keep the heat out of the house!!

It's not been much fun being a gardener in this heat... Dust sticks to sweat and I come home looking a fright!!!.... Wish someone would mention it before I go to the shops!

Hope everyone manages to keep cool! Particularly thinking of @AuntyRach and her colleagues and patients! Sending hugs to @Hostafan1 x
