Thanks for good wishes @chicky and @didyw. OH is home, very well but a bit tired so is just having a snooze - and I may well do the same in a minute!
I am just so amazed about the speed and efficiency of such a major operation. these days. It's only been just over 48 hours and he's already home and walking about with two sticks. I don't even have to change any dressings, they stay on for 14 days. I just have a keep a careful watch on them. Goodness me, when I think I had to stay in hospital for ten days following birth, how times and methods have changed.
@steephill, that's a bit off without any notice and especially as it's so hot. Hopefully they'll supply you with bottled water like the village in Oxfordshire that's run dry.
Big hugs @Hostafan1, that's some of the formalities taken care of. Mercifully most of the next few days pass by in a kind of blur and automatic mode takes over. Hopefully you will now be able to make plans to see your lovely grandsons soon. They will be a big consolation to you.
@Dovefromabove, isn't that always the way! Still needs must I suppose. I've not been able to meet up with my younger brother and his wife (who are visiting a very sick relative of hers in Bath) because of OH's op etc but hope it won't be long before we can meet up.
Right, it's far too hot to do anything so time for a siesta!
Water back on and butt topped up as we run it to get clean water again, starts off looking like the Ganges with all the mud and rust before it clears. I think we are at the highest point in our supply branch so there is always a lot of burping and banging before we get a normal flow. Must go and check all the upstairs taps as it can get messy with all the extra pressure in the system.
Beautiful evening here with a clear sky and almost full moon. Work was disgustingly hot and that will be on repeat for the rest of the week. I took freeze pops in today and they went down a treat.
Take care folks and special mug of decaf tea for Hosta.
Temperatures are cranking up here … still nearly 20 this evening and I feel tired although I’ve not done a lot … so bedtime it is.
An early trip to the farm shop tomorrow instead of Friday as it’ll be ‘on a Friday morning that the plumbers come to call’ … with apologies to Flanders & Swann https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v1dvAxA9ib0
night night folks … sleep tight 😴

Just hit 34.7c now so we're hiding in the gloom in the sittingroom.
