Good afternoon,Ā  34 on my way back from Capel,Ā  when I first got to the car the gauge said 37! I had parked it in the shade but the sun was round the other side of the tall hedge by hometime.Ā  We were in a shopping centre yesterday,Ā  very cool, probably should have swapped the days round. Hindsight eh?Ā
We were there to buy shoes,Ā  I'm having trouble with a swollen joint on my right foot,Ā  and had been reduced to wearing one pair of tatty old oversized trainers as the only shoes that didn't aggravate it more. IĀ  have found the Tumeric helps a bit but not whole answerĀ  Ā got it X rayed a few weeks back GP follow up call basically said - it's wear & tear- which IĀ  have translated as " you'll have to put up with it" not good.Ā  Ā ThereĀ  are times when IĀ  can hardly stand on it thenĀ  minutes later it's OK. We will have to wait and see.Ā

Came home to find the cleaner hadn't been, quite annoying as I had tidied up for her last night.Ā Ā
Ā  :D sorry, I'm sure it's annoying, but I do find it funny that you (and everyone else) clean up before the cleaner comes.

It got to 32C here today as well @Lyn which is warmer than it was last month. Same again or hotter for the next couple of days. It hasn't got over 26C in my office yet though, so it's still bearable.

I had to water some of the veg early this morning - fairly newly planted because I just couldn't keep them in pots any longer - they were going to die either way so they're having to take their chances in the heat but I'm doing my best to keep them alive

@raisingirl If I didn't tidy she wouldn't be able to clean anything and it makes me put things away rather than leave them lying around.Ā  Having a cleaner is a fairly recent thing but I absolutely love it.Ā  Everything gets a really good cleanĀ  every fortnight and I just do bits and bobs inbetween to keep things fresh.Ā  First and Secondborn persuaded me to get one and it's one of the best things they have ever done.Ā  I get to spend lots more time in the garden without feeling guilty :D

Hi folks, hit 36.7c earlier but starting to cool down a bit now. Sitting in the bedroom which faces north and is far cooler than the front of the house.
We're both very tired, OH is doing well but I had to nip back up to the hospital at midday to borrow a raised loo seat for him to make life easier. I've been on my feet a lot these last couple of days which has made my legs ache so we're both resting at the same time.

I'm just chucking grey water on the potted plants late at night.

Hope your daughter feels better in time for her birthday. @Busy-Lizzie. I've been watching the terrible fires in Bordeaux, hope it doesn't get worse. Son and his family fly out on holiday to Lyon on Saturday. Don't envy them at Gatwick in this heat.

I'd love a cleaner again and might seriously think about that soon.

Hope everybody copes with the heatwave/water shortage ok.

I was beetroot coming home from work today. At least I can come home to a cool shower and icy drinks, unlike the poor patients.Ā

Just ventured outside and it’s lovely. Severe sulking from many of the plants.Ā

Take care all. Look out for the moon tonight:
