    Good morning/afternoon to you all.

Another sparkling day - not a cloud in the sky nor a breath of wind. Ā

I've been having one of those web chats with Cosmo and Atish on the British Gas helpline ... remember there was a problem with our plumbing and Anglian Water thought we had a leak, then it transpired it was due to a problem with the new meter and they fixed it ... and all was well ... but when we got back from MIL's OH said there was a noise in the pipes in the downstairs loo ... but this time it's a veryĀ  different noise ... I couldn't hear it, but I do have blocked sinuses and a bit of tinnitus ... but then yesterday I could hear it and now I can hear it in the upstairs bathroom cold pipe as well :o ...Ā so I went online to book a plumber but none of the Questions and Answers on the website quite fitted the answers I wanted to give ... so we did the webchat ... Atish agreed that the answers don't fit the problem as I described it, and the only thing he could put in is that we have no fresh water ... which isn't true ... but he did it, not me ... and a plumber is coming today ...

I've done the urgent washing ... the rest will have to wait as I expect we will be without water at some stage ... hey ho. OH is planning to cook a chicken korma for supper ... but if we have no water or the kitchen is full of plumber we may get a takeaway ...

What a nuisance @Dovefromabove - hope the plumber can correctly identify the problem (an air lock?) and fix it.Ā  And hopefully you won't have to have all your radiators drained.Ā  But if you do, at least you know you are all set up for the winter.

Feeling stiff and sore from my 5 hour shift on the veg patch yesterday, but happy to see everything looking so much better and the cabbage whites haven't managed to find any holes in the netting yet.Ā  But will have to keep an eye for emerging caterpillars as although I didn't see any obvious clusters of eggs I didn't examine every crevice and cranny.

Gorgeous day out there.Ā  Have done a bit of deadheading - more to do.Ā  Book club tonight. I'm not even a quarter of the way through the book (C.J. Samon's Tombland - it's a whopper!) but will be interested to hear what the others say about it and will hang on to the book to finish it.

You do pop into my thoughts @Hostafan1. Hugs.

It seems to be in the fresh water supply rather than the heating system @didyw  … I’m not sure whether that’s a good thing or not? Ā I’m just glad that last year when I checked the household insurance I discovered we weren’t covered for such things, so added it to our BG Heating contract thingummy.Ā

Fingers crossed for it getting sorted @Dovefromabove.

It seems to be the day for utility companies.Ā  IĀ  have just launched a formal complaint with the energy ombudsman.Ā  IĀ  have been trying to get a correct bill out of my supplier for nearly a year. They are only taking the standingĀ  charges,Ā  my account appears massively in credit but when they finally charge foe energy used it may not be.Ā

The plumbers have been ... they will be coming back in a few days to dig up the floor in the downstairs loo ... it seems it's not the cold water system it's a leak in the hot water pipe that is under the floor ... thank heavens for the insurance ... I wait to hear when they are coming.Ā Ā

    Back from RHS Bridgewater.
Fascinating to see how well it has developed in a year,Ā  many of the borders were really filled out and looking beautiful.
Still a huge amount to do, time and money needed.
    Scandalously expensive though: 2 sandwiches and 2 soft drinks £ 21, 2l perennials £14.

No pictures sadly, got there and camera battery was flat.

I'm glad you liked Bridgewater @punkdoc, but what a shame about the camera. I was looking forward to photos.

What a worry @Dovefromabove, I hope it gets fixed quickly and the water bill won't be expensive.

At last I have found a GP. There is a big shortage here. A new doctor started in May. I rang for an appointment then and got one today. He is willing to take me on and has ordered some blood tests, haven't had a blood test for years. But I think it will have to wait until I get back from Norfolk. My BP was OK.

Did some SM shopping this afternoon. I am off to stay a night with Daughter 1 tomorrow and Daughter 2 and family are coming here for the day on Thursday so I bought some things for lunch on Thursday.
